how much weight does it add… can you still bunny hop it?
PS. needs more chrome.
19 lbs extra weight. on a bike that is a lot.
I haven’t tried any “sweet jumps” yet. All I can see is that scene from Napolean Dynamite.
I think you can get away with this on the streets… They make a frame bag that could over most of those components up and all you would need to do is insulate the bag with some heat tape. I made one of these years ago on a road bike back at the bike shop. I used a weed whacker motor, and tack welded a pulley to the rear hub… Mine sat on a rear mounted bike rack, so you could easily cover it up and it was belt drive!
Oh and it used one of those reverse freewheels. So I could pedal freely, use the motor freely, or if I really wanted to get hauling, both at the same time.
Hi, my name is willybeen and I love to doublepost.
Mind posting up where you got the kit? This might come in handy next year. lol
^haha. taking turns at 40 mph in the islands… you’re going to need pegs so you can take me all over <3
I did one of these for a friend a while back. He ended up selling it to some guy for $500 and the guy got into a 30mph chase with the Buffalo Police through the streets before crashing and getting arrested. I made a thread about it back then. I’ll see if I can dig it up. They are fun though.
can i see a pic of the chain (engine sprocket) side. just out of curiosity
awesome story about the cops lol…I assure you all that if a cop tried stopping me, I would not try to run.
I will take a pic when i grease the chain and clutch lever later tonight between periods pauly.
I am going to try this technique…

Oh and Paulo… http://biketomopedkit.com/
Contact me first if you want to grab one…I may be able to get the super sale price still.
you gotta find a way to get it attached to the crank on the left side. that way you can take advantage of the gears.
I tried it but eventually put it towards the curb:
I actually got pretty far with it. I was able to drive it once before something on the drive axle snapped and I lost interest. It would have been mint if I had an engine setup like yours. I would seriously consider moving it to the crank. I bet it would go 55+ with the big gear ratios to choose from. Post pictures of the drive side?
^^ Jackshaft kit will allow you to run the gears. They sell them online somewhere. Honestly with the torque this thing makes, You accelerate faster just using the single gear. You just need to pedal a little to go from a stop without killing the clutch.
right but top speed would be vastly increased with the jack shaft.
Not at all. The tallest gear on the bike is way shorter than getting a small rear sprocket. I still want to get the kit just so I can run it through the gears. How awesome would that be seeing a motorbicycle ramming through the gears up the street. The other downside is then you put all the power through the meager bike chain and lose the heavy duty chain.
Here are the requested pics of the drive sprocket.
Re-posted this one to show the clutch gear housing. There is a gear on the crank behind this cover, driving a gear directly attached to the clutch assembly.
This is the other side. The sprocket is attached to the clutch, and drives the chain.
Then here is the rear sprocket. Universal mount that uses the spokes to drive the bike.
There is a chain tensioner that I forgot to picture. The one that comes with the kit is a nylon wheel, I replaced that with a cogged sprocket for a better fit.
It is the most simplistic setup evear.
skrappar, you are my hero…
i am so jealous, i cant focus at work…
I’ve always wanted to do this with a dino and weedwhacker motor
cool thanks
awesome
be prepared for a callout when I get my goped back together
Enough power to pull you through some mud? lol
Oh yes, she loves the mud. From the pics, you can tell that I don’t take it easy.
I would love a drag race in this thing. My buddy and I already raced…but since we have the same kit, it was even the whole way.
