Mountain biking ?

Would the Trek 3500 be a good bike to get me started? Or is there something better in the price range? I’m looking to spend under 400.

I want a bigger bike now :frowning: Riding a 20" bike to work in an expedient fashion is a PITA.

I wonder what I can get in trade for my motorcycle…
Maybe i’ll try to barter it on CL for a jet plane.

Honestly just explore and keep a phone on you. If you get lost pull up GPS and you’re good to go. Try to keep track of where you’re going mainly to help learn the trails.

Sprague Brook is a good place if you’re not familiar with the trails. It’s not super technical, so its good for beginners and its just a big loop, so its next to impossible to get lost.

You should be alright on it. It’s entry level, but Trek makes a reliable bike.

Have you checked craigslist? I had the same budget and ended up with a Trek 7500. Look into it.

i’m down to mtn bike anytime on the weekends or after work on a weekday, i just dont have a way to get my bike around :frowning: stupid car

where are you located? I have a truck if I can help out without driving too far.

definitely this, near impossible to get lost, just follow the groove and enjoy yourself.

i live in tonawanda, right off the 290

^I’m always up for trails, I have a car-rack for the prizm whenever I go riding.

I bought a Trek 3700 disc today. We then went about 14 miles on the four-wheeler trails under cemetary road in Lancaster. For the most part its pretty easy riding.

So I went up to Sprague Brook park last night around 6:00 and went riding for about 2 hours. I ran into a couple guys who were riding and they took me around a few trails. It was an awesome ride and the weather was great.

I think we are planning a ride tuesday night around 4:30/5 if anyone wants to join up with us.

I have a class Tuesdays. :frowning: And a golf tournament Wednesday.

hrmm, lemmie see what I can’t do about tuesday, might be able to swing by on the way home.

Wow not bad, ordered one. $4.99

BUMP! Hopefully hitting up a bike path today, if the sun ever makes an appearance. I will be riding the Lancaster bike path on sunday with my gf. A month or 2 and the trails should be drying up for us to ride. Can’t wait!

I need to buy a bike. I used to do this ALL the time when I was in high school.

I have been looking forward to getting my bike off the wall in my stairway coming up to my apartment. I had to look at it everytime I came/left and it’s so close!! I might go ride from Harry’s up to Grand Island today.

I def want to get into this. bobbyg, any chance you are going this weekend or next?
