I bet this guys is “modified”

I bet this guys is “modified”
He has a Dmax or MA motorsports knuckle kit. Modded knuckles, different inner and outer tie rods, and reinforced lower control arms (because you literally bottom the steering out on the control arms). I’m working on a setup for the Z right now, but I’ve only been running Tein Inner/Outers with spacers on the inner stops in the rack. I’m moving to a mix of SuperNOW/Tein/SPL parts which will bottom my steering out on the compression rod, which I’ll then need to modify if I want more angle. But I should be just about the same as that 240sx pictured.
There is an event at Shannonville in Ontario Canada on the 12th. Kind of a long drive though. But I think IanK and I will be going.
That is some crazy angle. I love the boro guys that get so much angle that their inside wheel flops around. Well, outside wheel when drifting.
Seriously, no one cares about stupid names like boro and manjii and shit like that.
Burnouts and sliding are sweet, that’s about the end of it.
I know the 350z is a bit of a heavy car to start and it seems like most people drift with small light cars.
Is it just a horribly bad idea to try to get into drifting with a large heavy car? IE a P71?
What is a P71?
Yes. Possibly the worst idea ever.
Oh, now that I’ve been educated.
Stick to gas brake dip with that POS. Nothing about that pile is meant for hard driving.
Let’s keep this thread to real questions.
Why do you throw things I buy you out the window at 120?
Why do I still have your hard case?
hahahaha.
Valid questions!
I’ll call you later.
 Awesome.
Hitting up Shannonville with Son240sx/DriftOps on Saturday, should be a good little “almost done with the season” event.
Also, little preview of next season, many cylinders:
LOL glad to see it showed up.
 Finally.

Alrighty, a few notes…
Don’t go to events without an alignment (no shit!), it makes a normally balanced 350z feel like an early 70’s short wheel base 911 with blown out suspension bushings… Sadly I finished the car up a couple hours before the event.
Seriously, it was absurd, push on entry, followed by extreme amounts of oversteer, followed by mid corner push (while oversteering, so basically a horrible 4 wheel drift), followed by a nicely controllable exit… but at that point I’m so far off line and the car makes so little power I’ve pretty much dictated where I’m going to go.
I’m extremely sick of how little power the stock VQ makes. The tune is fantastic don’t get me wrong, it’s smooth as hell, and for grip driving it’s really really nicely set up. But for drifting the lack of power is really really starting to piss me off. It makes it extremely hard to dictate large changes or drag out faster sweepers mid drift. Especially if it’s two slow corners followed by a fast one (with quick transitions of almost 180 degrees between them.). I’m HOPING my gear change from 3.5 R&P to 4.083’s next week will help fix this. The VK56 should take care of the rest.
Nicely tapped a hay/concrete wall with the rear bumper, which then packed the bumper with hay and caught fire (LOL). Got airborne at one point as I can’t help but dirt drop every damn run, and murdered what was left of the V2 front bumper. Going to need to get out some fiberglass and aluminum, with zip ties and rivets to fix that for the final 2 events this year (Watkins Glen with Niagara PCA, and ClubLoose Fright Moves in October). I’m honestly ready for the season to be over so I can prep for next year. Anyway, three photos and some on car video, Ian should be posting photos and his impressions from riding soon.
Had a lot of fun tandem’ing with S1DC, Intense Motorsports, Pat Cyr, Dave Briggs, Lucas, etc
Oh, totally forgot, the new suspension stuff from SuperNow and SPL works fantastic, TONS more angle. I have a bit of tweaking to do on the bumpsteer adjustments but I’ve easily got 50°+ of angle now if I had to guess.
Video:
Had a TON of fun. As Mike said the car was super unpredictable, but ginger head learned to tame it in good time and we had some pretty decent runs, as well as some pretty brutal dirt drops. That track is insanely rough going off. If im honest when the tire let go with the intense motor-sports car literally inches off the side of us, i didn’t see it ending well. HaHa Good times, I’ll have more pics later.
Any pics of the 7-way tandem?
I was onboard, I dont remember if anyone was shooting it, not to mention we where upfront so the in-car wouldn’t have gotten it. And i think it was 6 (2 groups of 3)
