Hmm can’t seem to upload it… Fooken compu newb I am. I can burn it onto a disc and get it to you sometime?
UpdateS?
Car is a broke POS. Anything else I should add lol
Well … fix it
Got $400 you wanna lend me? Nissan wants $240 just to flash my used ECU. I can’t afford it.
If I had 400 to lend, I would defiantly lend it to you dude
I’ve decided I will probably sell this kit. Nissan wants like $400 to install the ECU reprogram it to work with my NATs system and do all the relearns on it. I’m completely broke and at least I will have a running NA car.
Your used ecu isn’t plug and play? What model year is it?
No it isn’t. The car will not start without the NAT’s programed.
this is fucking gay! nobody on here knows someone that works at a nissan dealership? that blows man… you cant just put a filter on it intercooler and run it NA for now? then when you get some dough fix it? all that work to go back to stock seems like a huge waste…
Does know one listen to me? Even if I when back to NA it would still do the same thing. Putting a filter on it would not fix anything at all. The car i just a PITA to drive at all. The only way I can afford to fix it is to sell the fucking kit.
I see you tried my suggestion of a different MAF already.
lol If someone says MAF one more time I’m gonna cry. The MAF was the first thing I tried. And I have tried 4 Different MAFs.
Don’t give up yet Ryan. You have put so much effort and “tears” into this car you don’t want to pack it in for $400. Right now $400 seems like a lot but you’ll forever be pissed off if you just undo all this work and sell the kit (for likely less than what you paid for it).
Put your thinking cap on and see what you can do to earn $400.
…what about putting your photography skills to work? I bet if you stalked a few car shows in the next few weeks you could drum up some business. I am guessing people would pay you a few bucks to capture the beauty of their muscle car. Put together a portfolio of the cars you’ve shot and take it with you and start talking to people, show them what you can do, and ask for business. I bet you’d have that $400 in no time. Put together a “special offer” with maybe three different options and price points.
Make an “entry” level package for something really reasonable. Then make the middle package “only another $50-$75” but make it look sooooo much better than the entry package. Then make a ridiculously expensive package with more features. The idea is to get people to buy the middle package because it doesn’t take much more effort than the entry package so you don’t have to work harder but people will say, “what the hell, I’ll go for the middle package”. If there are some crazies that want the high end package then that is just gravy.
If you have an online portfolio send me the link and I can send it to the guys in the Edmonton Classic Sports Car Club.
Also, put together a nice 8.5 x 11 promo sheet and see about putting it up in various shops around the city where people who are into cars go, e.g., metal finishing, speed shops, Mopac, JB Automotive, Bel, etc.
Sorry about the MAF thing Ryan. it just acts like a MAF issue. Cam at Lightspeed even thought so when I told him what was going on. But you have that covered so i can’t imagine how frustraited you must be. I hope you get it running right soon please don’t give up.
Ok,
Update time. So James (feyd182) got his hands on a snap-on ODBII reader/scanner today and we decided to see what we could pull.
So we took some readings just with the car in acc mode. I tried this with both ecu’s just to see if anything was different.
OLD ECU
TPS% = 2.4
MAF = 0.12 ppm
Ignition Adv = 63.5
NEW ECU
TPS% = 2.0
MAF = 0.13 ppm
Ignition Adv = 63.5
So I have not taken my car to Nissan asyet to get the NAT’s programmed. So we put the old ECU back in. The only major thing that was noticeable was:
- I threw a code for running super rich
- My timing was at 63 on start up and would be between 63 when driving and -4 when I released the gas peddle.
I’m thinking I have a wicked timing issue. His car would be between 15 most of the time. Does anyone know what the normal is?
So before I take my car to Nissan for some reprogramming I wonder if I should replace the camshaft sensors.
Anyone have any ideas?
Well only thing you can do is whip out the timing gun and check
Timing guns do not work on Spec’s as you have no way to see the crank pulley. Plus our timing is ECU controlled.
Facebook state’s Ryan’s car is fixed.
I demand an explanation!
