muffler tip needs a polish

Anyone got any ideas how to get that shine back in the tip of a muffler, I’m looking back wishing I had swapped the stock one on for the winter so my new one didn’t get rusted up.

any ideas?

if it’s chrome or shiny, then get a chrome cleaner/polish from Wal-Mart and it will do the job
if it’s like a silver, then get a wheel cleaner/polish

I just used CLR on the old stock muffler.

SOS

thanks guys

A little wheel acid and some windex. Then use some steel wool.Makes the job a lot easier using the chemicals.

I use stove top cleaner.

SRBURG has it nailed. Just get the stove cleaner and some metal scouring pads and rub away. The chemicals and abrasive srcubbers clean things up easy with little effert.

Just thought I’d say thanks, it worked like a charm and for only $3.99

Hehe, anytime.

I just rub it in a damp cloth, rub off all of the grime, and then rinse with the pressure washer. Like a mirror. And no scratches left behind.
