I know the 4.3’s run great. My dad’s Silverado has a 4.3, it’s fine.
In my experience, the Fords have lasted 300,000+ before needing major repair. My buddies 4.3 with 165,000 miles can barely get him to work every day without breaking down. I know that doesn’t speak for all engines, but this has been my experience as of yet. I’m not making this shit up, haha

GM’s vortec 4200(inline 6) has only been out since 2002 so doesn’t leave much proving ground for mileage but i’m betting in a few years it will be at or past where fords inline is
