Totally agree on this. I have never run the 1/4. I am guessing with a good driver my car is capable of maybe mid to high 12s, but I dont think that I am since I have never been to track.
Understood. We throw number and times around on this board all the time, but what the car is capable of is really what matters when we’re talking about a roll race anyway (I think that’s where this all started…).
You may have been watching me when I first got the STi! I get your point. I am by no means a good drag race driver, but the times mentioned I have done.
I’m also not trying to determine from the little information given in this thread which car is faster, I was just trying to put down some better information about STis. There are 10,000 variables that I’m not going to pretend to know.
Four cylinders suck. Of course it’ll be ‘fast’ w/ forced induction. Not impressed. Take the same amount of boost and apply it to a big fat sexy domestic V8 and it’ll walk the gay little import 4cyl. Cubes is power boys. That’s the way to go fast.
Word put a turbo on that V8 and see what happens to the :gay: lil import.

i ran 12.6 and my friend was having trouble breaking into the 12s with basically the same car, if anything he shoulda been faster then me

Imports aren’t as fast as you boys think. Go to any type of true street race and see who’s haulin balls. Not imports. They hardly ever enter street car shootouts. Why? Cause they suck, they’re slow, and most intelligent people who run them know they can’t hang with real cars so they don’t even show up.
I give thumbs-up to anyone who wants to improve the performance of their cars. To each their own. I’m probably the minority on this board, but if you want to go fast it doesn’t make sense to me to build a 4 banger when the V8 has so much more potential.
That’s funny because when I went to Pinks All Out in Norwalk there were a few imports that could have been quick but 2 of them broke on the starting line (an STI and an Evo) and there were a couple more that shit the bed going down the track. That’s a much bigger percentage that broke when compared to the domestics that were there. There were several domestics w/ license plates running in the 8s. Try that w/ your gay little Civic!

AMS evo totally is slow running 8’s at 170+ makes 1100whp. About the same as the v8 guys. I love both kinds of cars. But it way cooler to see imports haul ass, sorry.

My daily is a stock LX 5.0 foxbody convertible and my toy is a 91 5.0 notch- ported polished Dart heads, ported GT-40 intake, Compucam 2030, 1-3/4 LTs w/ full exhaust, Eaton posi w/ 3.73s, Vortech S-Trim pullied for 14psi, backed by a built 200-4R tranny w/ 3500-3800rpm stall. Not the quickest thing out there but it’s still one hell of a fun street car. No I haven’t run it down the quarter. Why? Because I refuse to put a cage in it.
