Mustang vs. WS6

Can’t remember who owns the car or the name of the dude driving it (it was his friends) but we made a few runs this evening. The WS6 had some bolt ons and apparently put down 437rwhp…my car is pretty much a bolt on NA 302 and makes 305rwhp for some reference.

First run, both cars had some cold tires as we each spun a bit, I don’t know how bad he did. I feathered first right off the line but at the top I was WOT and pulled a bit. Second gear I was hooked up and pulled some more, third a bit more…not sure when I let off, maybe 80ish???, but I was about 3-4 cars on him.

Secong race I thought it would be fair to him to take traction problems out of the equation, so we went from about 30mph which was a low rpm 2nd gear roll for me (not the most ideal but whatever). From 30 to about 100 or so he had me by a half-car length…was slowwwwwwly inching away from me. Very close race here.

All in all…some good runs:tup:

30 roll fbodys is sick nasty he most likely spun still, but good american vs american races

Nice Run Mike, Your 'Stang is definately strong.

Some how I feel he may have overestimated his WHP if he was even with you. You’d think and extra 130 WHP would be worth more than that…

But either way, Nice run!

Nope, no spin. About as solid of a race as you could find.

I was behind them both times they ran. A vid should be up soon (by Mike24Ri) , and the bird was spinning like crazy, he had no traction. If he would have hooked it would have been over. (LXTASY) has a beautiful car, but the bird was definitely the faster car.

Haha, yes first race wasn’t much of a race as I know he was spinning…second race he was 5 feet from me with my window down, he didn’t spin.

if you can’t hand it to a bolt on 5.0 with 437 rwhp something is wrong.

there is no way a bolt on fbody put down 437whp. And if you are putting down 305whp then that WS6 has to be pretty much bone stock.

Not a bolt on fbody, it has a huge cam, FAST intake and TB, air box, Heads, headers, and a full 3in exhaust. Clutch has seen better days though.

I do have heads/cam/intake…nothing major and something I condiser to be pretty standard issue for Mustangs, although my moddest compression doesn’t help much (~9:1). There were no dyno charts to prove this magical 437rwhp number…just what the dude driving the car said. Regardless, the hood was popped and the car is most definitely not stock. My car has never put up big dyno numbers or mph at the track, but on the street has done it’s fair share of hanging with and taking down cars that should have beat the shit out of me.

Where’s that vid???

9:1? time for some b00st  sounds like some good runs though

Little three-oh-two that could. Nice runs.

Im not trying to put your car down or anything, and i know dyno numbers dont mean everything. Its just odd that a car making an extra 130hp didnt just walk away from you.

Maybe his e-Brake was on?

Word

nice to hear peps are still out there racing.
LETS SEE the VIDs

Nice Job Mike i shoulda stuck around i woula liked to get in on this. but it didnt look like anyone was gonna run

Late November racing…I have never thought that would happen in Buffalo.

Nice work.

Yeah no shit…I’ve been running around with this shortblock for the past 5 years thinking “this winter I’ll boost it”…I actually have a small collection began for a single turbo, but it’s a long ways off before anything will be on the car.

No offense was taken, I too was a bit surprised by the outcome…

Tonight is looking nice is anyone wants to make any runs:)

Yeah, it just so happened that we left at the same time and were headed in the same direction. BTW, you car sounded nice on the way out.

i will work on the vids as soon as i get back form school. expect them up but 1:30 or so

LXTASY
What is your set up. 305whp is pretty decent. A lot of guys have trouble hitting 300 even with h/c/i which is shocking to me.

I might be intersted tonight details…details???
