Just seems very slow for something that’s making nearly 500 hp. I realize it’s a tank, but still.
It’s probably putting down less than 400 to the wheels.
Yeah, the fastest trap I’ve seen is like 104 or 105 in stock trim I believe, and thats with someone who has a hell of a lot more experience then I do (I had NEVER been on a track in my life)
I need some seat time, figure out the car and maybe lose 200lbs or so and my times should go down haha
You figure car weight + full tank of gas + me = damn near 6000lbs.
The transmission gearing in these things is odd, seem to “flatten” out in 3rd. Like I mentioned before, I’ve been told that tuning the transmission makes just as big, if not bigger difference than tuning the engine
I have a guy who has offered to send me his tune he’s been tweaking for 2+ years, just need to get up with JonnyD and mess around with Hptuners
these are RWD, correct? an aluminum driveshaft could help you get the 60ft times, if it doesnt come with one.
If I cared about weight, I wouldnt have bought a caddy.
I can go to the track, run 13’s and have my balls cooled by the air conditioned seats.
What dies an aluminum driveshaft have to do with 60’ times?
less rotating mass = moar accelerations
In the end, the car wasn’t designed to be flogged down a dragstrip. I’d just leave it stock and enjoy it the way it is.
Haha was literally thinking the same exact thing.
Serious question… Aluminum makes cars faster and hook better?
A guy i work with has a black on black cts-v, it’s quick as fuck. I love these cars
doesnt help it hook. but with less mass then a comparable steel driveshaft, an aluminum one will A) be lighter in general and B) result in a better launch.
I’ll put it this way. If 2 RWD vehicles are identical, except one has a steel driveshaft, and the other has an aluminum one, the second car will accellerate better. the top speed may be the same, but the car with the aluminum shaft will get there first.
if Boxersix or KK wants to elaborate/prove me completely wrong, go for it. i cant explain things very well.
Literally would not make any difference.
Aluminum=better grip. Hmm that’s new. Sure anything removing mass will make it quicker in theory but hell a diet will accomplish the same thing. Not meant to be an insult to the OP BTW.
