Made some progress on the exhaust from the downpipe. From here I am going to loop 4" over the axle to a muffler and 3" out the back. Exhaust is going to be 5 v band sections. Down pipe, mid section, axle muffler section, 3" D side, 3" P side. Plan is subject to change.
just a suggestion, I don’t know if you are a fan of the caterpillar look but I think the stainless would look a lot nice if you wiped off your welds leaving only polished stainless. Sometimes the oxygen contamination looks cool but most of the time it just looks un finished to me. Buuuuuuuuuut opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one and it in no way hinders the integrity of the welds obviously. welding skills are coming along nicely.
Thanks for the tips! Maybe i will try that on a few. I like the color in the weld but had considered polishing off the brown/blk but i dont mind it too much. Skills are getting practice for sure. A 4" pipe is a little over a 12" circumference. I think I have around 15 FEET of weld when I counted the downpipe and cat back so far. That is lots of TIG practice.
4" really makes it a pain in the ass to fit. Wait till you see the last section I am going to make. I hope it actually works. I am going over the axle into a 4" muffler that has two 3" outlets that will shoot off to tips. I wish a single exit exhaust looked ok on a Nova but it prob wouldn’t.
