In the meantime I decided to rebuild the heater and defroster. I wasn’t gettin anything out of it and the cable controls were binding.

Maybe this is why. Left is old, notice what I can only describe as “plaque.” Ugh…

Here’s what I was talking about before - the defroster plenum. When this car was made, it obviously hadn’t been designed to last 40+ years.

About the consistency of that potting cardboard you find at Lowes.

All the stuff for the rebuild. Used new seals, core, motor, defroster and tubes. The heater box was cleaned, disinfected, and duralubed up.
