no, its just everyone that does want to race has an all powerful LS1 which i dont stand a chance against lol
good work jimmy, its nice how some ppl take the time and do a step by step documentation on their progress. this is a car board and its nice to see ppl doing their thang. it doesnt matter if its import or domestic write ups like this is a good way and a good thing for any car board
quit hi-jacking ppls threads with your nonsense. this thread was about jimmy and his progress and not about you trying to race ppl
no rb = no care
j/k, looks good. :bigok:
did you have fun sourcing all the DE parts? or did they come with the motor?
THANK YOU.
i bought the cluster, wiring harness, MAFS and throttle cable for 70 bucks from a guy on 240sxforums. the engine, tranny, ecu and another MAFS cost me 500 bucks from a local guy. the deal was so good on the engine though. i have the entire stack of service papers for the 70k this engine was in the other car.
on a side note: i love RB motors and really have a desire to do a rb20 or 25 swap into a s13 coupe.
heres a few more picture of my car for fun:
i still dont get why that motor is crooked
the car looks good, props for the swap!
and on another note:
i’ll race ya
i have a vr6
i think it might be the design of the intake manifold on the SR20 and KA24DE engines! if the motor sat straight, i dont think there would be very much room between it and the strut tower. that lack of room would make it fairly impossible to get to the fuel and oil filters. just a guess though.
Jimmy
yeah me too
looks good man, i’d love to have a 240 again… they’re fun cars.
If i could fine a nice 5-speed 97-98, id think about another one.
i love the koukis too but they are so hard to find
haha. i just noticed your question in my year old thread and decided to answer! the motor makes 15 HP and 8 ft/lbs of torque more than the stock motor! the real reason i swapped it in was because i blew up the old motor and needed something so i had a car to get from a to b. i wanted a SR or CA motor but couldnt afford to do it right so i opted for this motor. it was an incredible deal and would run reliably in my car which was more important than power.
Nice write up. It’s nice to see ppl doing somethig a little different with the 240. A turbo’d DOHC KA would be sik! Good luck with all ur future plans.
you going to NA-T that thing? I just bought a s13 240sx too…
found a great forum for the cars
ive been a member of ka-t.org for almost 2 years now
www.240sxforums.com is usually the 240sx forum of my choice though.
ive owned this car since march '04
Jimmy
thank you. this project went down over a year ago though but again thanks! its still running flawless and strong
