My 636 Winter Project

As some of you know, I decided to paint the wheels on the 636 this winter.

Part of the reason was boredom, and the other part was because stock black wheels are blehhh and gold is overplayed  (haha Tim!)

So here’s my DIY/Write-Up from over the winter:

First…

Take bike, put on stands…easy enough!

Then pull those ugly ass wheels off!

Take a step back and admire your work (Shaky camera phone excitement!)

Next…STRIP THOSE BITCHES! (And scrub/clean the living hell out of them too!)

Spray a few coats of SELF ETCHING PRIMER…

NOW FOR COLOR!!!

Three coats of silver metallic…

NOW FOR SOME SHINY SEXY SPRAY ON CLEAR! (3 coats for those biotches)

Now…get some new shoes put on…

FINALLY…MOUNT THEM UP AND ENJOY!!

Mmmmm Sex!

Overall I think they turned out great. Yes, they were rattle-canned, and I’m perfectly OKAY with that.

Thanks to ieatpaint315 (ryan) for helping me with everything  and technomedia for hooking me up with some quality decals

And of course Ian with the bonerific picture:

BTW: You can “murder out” a car/bike, you can also “storm troop” it…BUT…I’m coining this as an official “Silver-Surfed” vehicle.

that last shot is purdy

your bike looks great

the only thing i think looks good on silver cars/bikes is silver, black or chrome

Wow, great work

looks good what about the other projects?

Looks great man!

they look even better in person. i would have never guessed they were rattle-canned.

Nice choice on color and nice paint work, I think your choice makes the bike look more appealing and more racey.
Thanks too for posting this and giving me some motivation to continue work on painting my car wheels

Very nice, Chris

came out nice.

that looks really nice, especially the last picture. I like how the gold accents play off the road stripe.

did you put new wheel bearings in while you were in there?

we have the same stands :nerd:

nice bike!

hey that snow blower wouldn’t happen to say hahn eclipse or snow giant on it would it?

still in the process, but hopefully by next week i can start getting em done

The bearings were in good shape, though I may still swap em out sometime this season

Why yes it does actually. That snowblower was bought in 1977 (Blizzard of 77 to be exact) by my grandfather and has been running strong ever since. Every year I expect it to not start up, and no matter what it proves me wrong lol

beeeeauteeeful…

it looks nice, but the shocker is way beyond played out and ends up looking lame.

Its okay, bikers are trashy anyways.

I could always take it off and buy a BMW convertible…

<3 haha

Now its time for the steering damper. Best thing I ever did to my 636

Secks. LOL I’ll be honest I told him all winter I didn’t think the silver was gonna look good, then he pulled into my driveway and I said…FUCK. LOL <3333 bike looks awesome.

nice 636, wheels look sick …i just got my freestyle ingenuity 12 bar…pain in the ass to install tho :frowning:
