I thought I had posted in here but I guess not. I just fired the car up the other day with the new combo and will upload some vids soon. Interested to see how it compares to my old 331/S-Trim setup.
Too much to list everything but I bought the car almost 4 years ago and it had a pretty nice combo of built 331 with ported TFS heads, Stage 1 cam, Systemax intake, 42lbers, S-Trim, etc…etc. I sold that engine and supercharger and was going to sell the car then changed my mind.
Now it has stock '90 shortblock with TFS Stage 1 cam, 1.7 rockers, Edelbrock 6037 heads, 60lbers, Cobra intake, Vortech Si-Trim, SCT BA2400 meter,MAC shorty headers, UPR offroad X-pipe, Dynomax Ultraflow catback, 3.73 gears, aluminum flywheel, aluminum driveshaft, BBK upper/lower rear control arms, BBK caster camber plates, BBK subframe connectors, Pro 5.0 shifter with Hurst plate and handle, plus more.
How come you ditched the 331?
before it was back together…
Long story. I had another Mustang at the time, plus a Harley F150 and never planned on keeping this car at 1st. I sold the 331, S-Trim, etc. for more than I paid for the car. So I had a rolling chassis with trans plus $500 in my pocket. Had I known I’d keep it I’d have left it in because the heads alone were $1800ish.
new combo…
old 331 and S-Trim
I love the car. Its just clean and to the point
Thanks! I had all the brackets done in black wrinkle powder coat, along with the valve covers and the discharge pipe. I was trying to keep it clean looking and I don’t like stuff flashy. The rims being chrome I don’t mind but thats it.
yeah clean ride man, hope to see ya around!
its about time. ive been curious about this car. you talked about it, but its the first exposure really. :tbu
sweeeet fox how much whp you estimating/hoping for if you dont mind me askin?
Clean car man, if I saw that on the streets i would not expect that under the hood
470-530 depending on the boost and how aggressive I get with the tune. I am not sure of the boost level since I had it upgraded. I’m guessing 10-11lbs. With the weight of the car, it should give it the capability to run high 10’s at 127-129
Haha, sorry for some reason I thought I had post about it before.
Here are some old pics of the car, looks the same of course. The color is Reef Blue.
Other than the wheels and the fact it has a tach that is visible(which was already in it) it doesn’t look too crazy. I have the triple gauge pod in the center vent area, (oil pressure, boost, fuel press.).
Love this car, reef blue and calypso I’ve always had a soft spot for!
looks good Dave…bring it out to Airborne Tuesday night.
PJB, why dont you drive yours bro???
take off the GAY V6 wheels, spend a couple hours fixing the little bugs, and ENJOY it, this guy has a BLOWER amongst other things and the car is good to go, fix your NA JUNK PAUL
