it’s just the fact that theres all this drama now because cossey exposed some of us to a legitimate conversation he tried to have, probably because he was frustrated with the lack of concern on mike’s part. There was no reason for him to delete cossey’s post, and saying that he wants sponsorship (money) is just an asshole way of saying fuck you for whatever i’m still holding a grudge over.
cossey did not “expose” anything, cossey went and started a conversation with mike NOT to find an answer to why the thread got deleted, b/c he already knows that answer, he started the conversation knowing that mike would dance around the problem . Mike danced around the problem b/c he knew exactly what cossey would do. Which in the end mike was proven right with cossey taking a PERSONAL conversation and making it PUBLIC just to show mike was dodging his question.
Leaving that thread up was going to do what for rspeed/ mike?

i see no plus side for mike to keep it up, you guys would still think he’s a jerk, still think he’s greedy, and still think the site is only around to make money. So nothing would change and a site that publicly bashes the other would use it to post a public meet.
Whats vlads doing is a great thing no doubt but the business side of things is a little off. Vlad DID threaten mike first, mike laughed b/c vlad who was at the time talking to mike as a business representative resorted to threats to try and change an outcome. Thats not good business and i don’t understand why more people don’t understand that
So mike basically had 1 of 2 decisions to make. Allow the post, and see what happened. Or delete it and ignore cossey’s attempt to ask him why… which started all of this. So knowing that i’m not understanding why mike still chose to delete the post. You’re just making assumptions on what would have happened.
We will never know, and now instead of there being a chance that some of us might all think he’s a “d-bag”, he proves it beyond a doubt.
See, out of all the people on here, both you and Vlad I respect. You’re the one I disagree with the most in this thread and yet there is no way I’m going to argue with you or insult you. That’s because you actually give a shit about doing stuff for other people. I can’t say the same about most of the other nutswingers that frequent this forum, bitching about paying for websites that are actually free and talking shit about people they don’t know.
I’ve been around doing this shit for years. Before Rspeed was even a gleam in Mike’s eye and before a lot of the people here even got their licenses. It’s stupid to see this shit pop up, but that’s between you and mike. I wish you’d left it that way, but that didn’t happen. The thing that really heats me is to see all the nutswingers on here jump onboard the Hate Rspeed bandwagon almost immediately, not becuase they genuinely have any extensive personal experience in the matter, but just so they can rehash what you’re saying and make it sound more badass. You and Vlad are the only two on here that I hold in high esteem, because I know you two really are trying to do stuff for the community.
Unfortunately the community isn’t a bunch of level headed enthusiasts, focused on the things you and I like to focus on. There are a lot of scumbags and guess what fellas - I’ve seen most of them hanging out here. You don’t like it? Too bad. It’s my shoot-from-the-hip opinion, just like most of the idiots here have a shoot from the hip opinion on who they think Mike is and what they think the website is about. It’s all horrendously stupid because in the end, IT"S A FUCKING WEBSITE, not a scene, not a lifestyle, a WEBSITE. I have had no problem posting pretty much whatever I want on Rspeed within reason. I don’t think mike disagrees with you personally so much as he disagrees with most of the people who post on here and dislike him - and yet have NEVER MET HIM. If I ask him why he took your post away, I guarantee that’s why. He doesn’t dislike you and he doesn’t dislike vlad. He dislikes the crowd on your website, becuase they spend so much effort telling everyone in the world how much they dislike him… and many of them have NO IDEA who he is.
I don’t find that unreasonable. I wouldn’t want to be associated with that shit either, and I would NEVER let it happen on my own site. You guys KNOW what the hell you’re doing with cars and you are the kind of guys who are usually too busy doing shit to worry about arguments like this. Us RSpeed guys are much the same way. There’s no thread on Rspeed that goes on for pages about “Fuck Shift518 and the assholes on there.” If there was such a thread, guess what. Mike wouldn’t allow it. You’re damn right I came here to post shit that wouldn’t be tolerated on Rspeed. I have more respect for that community and guess what that makes this place? A dumpster for my emotions, which is sad, becuase that interferes with the quality of stuff on the site that you and Vlad work hard to provide. You can’t have great tech, good writeups and a bar-room brawl atmosphere at the same time.
After a while, you outgrow a lot of this shit. It made me angry last night to see this shit going on and now at 8:30 in the morning, i"m too tired to be pissed. It’s just depressing. People here stifle their own growth as enthusiasts becuase they’re too busy bitching to learn. If I had to ask someone here today how to set up their suspension for an autocross, or how to map out their turbo choice to achieve specific flow targets at a useful RPM, I doubt most could do it. Pick up a book, learn some stuff and stop being annoying ricers.
And Swifty - you know better than this. You don’t even know the guy and you’re fairly level headed. I’m sure there are a lot of IM convos you wouldn’t want people to see, lest they get the wrong impression about you. Jesus, you owned a honda with chrome wheels and a fartcan.

Although I can understand Cossey’s frustration, I think it was carried too far. I don’t blame Mike for deleting the post at all. Why is rspeed expected to help out shift when there is so much rspeed bashing being done here? True, vlad does not participate in the bashing, but almost every other mod does. Nothing gets done about it either. But mike should be different and just be cool with it? Fuck that shit. Make your claims that he is being selfish for not helping out the scene or helping out another local entrepreneur, but wtf are you guys doing to help him? Nothing! but he is suppose to help you? How the hell is that any different than buying a “Premium” membership for $30 and getting all that same shit? I got a t-shirt (picked from 3 different styles), bunch of vinyl, business cars, AND more when I got my membership package. Guaranteed you guys would be spending more than all that if you were to buy all that stuff separately which most of you are willing to do. Control your nut swinging and think logically before you embarrass yourself.

I’m glad Cossey extended the invite for the meetup to Rspeed. That’s a nice gesture.
Unfortunately, the gesture couldn’t help the fact that mike didn’t like the crowd that said gesture represents. That’s the same thing as those sketchballs from the Kohl’s lot who whipped out baseball bats, asking to post their meetup flyers at the old JVG store when you were open. You’d probably say no to that shit too, not becuase of the scene but because you wouldn’t want to be associated with that shit.

I don’t see how letting another group of enthusiasts know about an upcoming meet is harmful. Especially when there is quite a bit of member overlap.
Not really a big deal, I think people over at RSpeed know about the meet and they have been invited so if they want to come, they can.

seriously though, i don’t have any personal against mike. I don’t know him personally, and untill we meet face to face I can’t really open my mouth about him as a person because i don’t know. That being said my beef with rspeed started when my boy posted looking for help trying to find a motor for his broken down daily driver del-sol. The thread was deleted because he didn’t pay for a premium membership. I didn’t agree with that. After it was explained to me that it was not a “scene” forum and that it was a forum for a car club (i had no idea until someone informed me - at which point i realized my foot tastes like shit) I shut my mouth about bullshit and just posted there about other on-topic posts. Nothing I’ve posted since then has been deleted (i can’t remember anything anyway), so I have no beef. I go there from time to time but not that often, I realize Mike is trying to run a business over there, thats his perogative, he pays for that shit, but i just choose to post here and make you all suffer my rants instead. I personally like the atmosphere here, I think we have some idiots, but show me one large crowd ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD that doesn’t? I enjoy the ability to say whatever i want here, this place is a perfect replacement for the apg forums (that really isn’t meant as an insult, i loved the apg forums and the swat forums too). I think Vlad has done a great job here, again, I have no connection to him, I’ve never met the guy. I don’t think anyone should really be talking shit about either forum unless they have a valid reason or disagreement.
