My Bar

This has been posted on rspeed already, but I’ll share it here as well.

-8 foot long
-oak
-took 6 months to make (mainly weekend project)
-had it for a year an a half now

I still have to build the bar back, but I’ve been lazy lately (for a year, ha!).

It beats going out to a bar. Especially when a 16 oz beer only cost me about 70 cents when a bar will charge you $3.50+

Here it is

found some blue ropelight and put it to use. It gets the job done, although it can look tacky at times.

I push mad PSI, what?! (I don’t care that it’s dirty… it’s a damn bar)

Where I usually stand. And yes, the tap handles are accurate. I have Sam Adams, Bud Light and the “Black Dog Ale” handle is used for my Homebrew.

That’s pretty sweet man!, nice work :thumb

Thats awsome man…bet your friends LOVE you lol :banana

oh ya, especially since I don’t charge them anything

Nice work on the bar. I’ll have to get some pics up of my friends bar I made for him. In one of your pics I saw little fans, what are you using those for?

I just noticed the carbon fiber drip tray :lol that’s effing sweet!

The circulate air around the mini fridge. The Keg cooler is powered by a 2.7 cu/ft mini fridge. I took the door off and turned it to face the right (if you were behind the bar) and then built a very well insulated area that essentially acts like a extension to the fridge. Fridges not only cool air, but also dissipate heat. If you completely enclose the fridge then is will have no where to dissipate the heat. If I didn’t put those there then the compressor would probably burn out rather quickly. I also have two fans inside the keg box to circulate the cool air.

it makes the beer come out faster

Did you go to C.B.A.?

nope, guilderland then RPI

thats pretty sweet man.

if you did some T&G pine wall treatment stained to match the bar all the war around the room and ceiling, it would be TITS

my contractor buddy suggested that exact thing, but I think it’d be a bit too much. Wood bar, wood bar back (yet to be built), wood ceiling and wood walls… god damn. Contrast is good.

I will be getting recessed lights and other little goodies, but so much other stuff takes priority (like making sure the bar is always fully stocked :nod)

yea I hear ya, I will share a couple grolsch’s full of my summer brau if your interested

you a homebrewer?

im looking to build a bar, i just got a pool table and wanted to put a bar in there to go with it, i wasnt going to go that far with it though, just some sanded plywood. Looks nice as hell though

yes sir

kicklow and Vlad can attest to that

very nice. I’ve been doing it for a year an a half. I’m lucky enough to keg all my homebrews. Don’t think I have the patience to bottle them all.

looks great! as soon as i have enough $$ to afford a nice house, i want to build my own bar. have the whole game room setup

yea the first batch I did I used traditional bottles that I capped. then the second time I used grolsch’s, now I plan on mixing in a few 2L and 1L grolsch’s type bottles. I hope to get a stainless fermenter and some other goodies soon. sucks having to do it in my apartment right now, but oh well

Nice looking man land!
