My bender is here.... WOOT!!

p.s if you need seom help making stuff I may know a guy that is kind of a big deal … cough me cough

Mind if I ask how you plan on doing Roll Cage work without dies over 2’’ ? 2500lbs vehicle (so a 240sx) will require a 2.50’’ x .120’’ Main Hoop if built to proper specifications and then the rest could be 2.25’‘. But the only rules I"m aware of that would allow 1.50’’ - 1.75’’ is D1 and their rules/specs are a joke.

Simple.
DMCC rules. Which use FD rules.

7.4.4 Tubing Size
Roll Cage tubing must conform to the table below and is determined by the vehicle weight as raced without fuel and driver. The minus tolerance for wall thickness should not be less than .010" below the nominal thickness.

Vehicle Weight Alloy or DOM
O.D. x wall thickness (inches)
Up to 3500 lbs 1.500 x .095

Vehicles weighing over 3500 lbs. must petition FORMULA D for approval of the roll cage prior to entering an EVENT.

If someone is competing in something that requires something more. I buy another die… It’s not like I’m limited to 1 3/4’’ for the rest of my life.
However as of right now I’m focusing on DMCC spec cages. This is my starting point.

If the size of tubing concerns you. I would get in contact with one of the tech directors for DMCC and ask them what’s up.

I’m just the guy who builds stuff. I get a sheet of paper stating what specifications to build to.

Bend #1!!!

That’s just a teaser… :stuck_out_tongue:

so whos bender is it than!?!?! your’s or pinkninjas

Its Pinkninja’s and S13counterparts… It’s a really complex situation… Involving dividing by Zero

just don’t try to bend any thin wall stainless adam. i tried just as an experiment and it just crumpled up. haven’t tried thicker wall yet, but i wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same result.

personally, i like the vertical bender better because it takes less room to bend something (sweeps up instead of horizontal), you can use a digital angle finder which makes calibrating a piece of cake and it can be wheeled just about anywhere in the shop i need it to be. did you get it from tim at tmr? he’s a great guy to deal with.

you should also consider picking up the bendpro software if you don’t already have it. saves you time and material.

here’s mine before paint:

2.5!!! are you serious. Maybe for dump truck racing. CASC requires 1.5x.120 DOM for a basic 6 point with 1/8 thick 6x6 weld plates. Even for a basic roll bar, the req is a 1.75x.120 DOM. for the main hoop

I gotz d5000???

I wasn’t serious… I will however trade a cage for money…

Thanks Aaron.

I have some thick walled stainless I can use if I have the right size…
I’ll most likely need some kind of mandrel for it.

Yeah I have Bend-Tech… I’ve had it for about 6 months now… lol… Fucking LOVE IT!

It would have definitely been far more beneficial for me to have a vert style like yours. But there was NO WAY I ould pass on this… I’m sure you would have done the same, lol

In other news… A little more of a teaser… :stuck_out_tongue:

My friends Drift S13… This pics is at about 50% completion.

A cage I did in Bend-Tech
Yes I know there is a horizontal and diagonal brace missing…

Maaaaaaake some anti roll barz too. I would mostly love to buy those.

If only I had a nickel for every person that says that would definitely buy something… lol
Money talks… :stuck_out_tongue: lol

wow. looking forward to c that s13 drift car done with fuuuullll cage job.

The S13 already has a full cage. Not built by me.
All I’m doing is a tubed front and rear end… For now…

Honestly…I miss that car ^ I hope your work keeps up to the beating it’s probably going to endure lol
