Slid the bike out doing about 35-40mph into a large curb. Honda house came up with 5300 in damage, but I could have it back together for about 2,500, maybe less.
My insurance said it was a total loss and they are cutting me a check for a good amount ( +5300 )
I could buy it back for 1,000. But then I would have to wait to get the salvage title, and send that to my ins. then they would cut me the check minus 1,000.
Anyone on here have a salvage lic. for bikes? Its going to the gibsonia insurance auctions, thats what they told me over the phone. The engine and frame is fine, most of the damage was cosmetic to the right side. I just dont have the time or patience to get the S title, then apply for the R title.
Hell I dont even know why its getting a S title in the first place, I rode the damn bike to the dealership!
03 600rr with 6800k. I told them to take it and cut me a check. So it’ll be at some insurance auction in gibsonia. Next week Im guessing. I have the full print out of what was damaged. Definitly a steal, bike was SOLID. Now it just looks like ass.
Oh man, I wish I would have seen this sooner, I would have given you $1k for that bike. If the insurance company will still let you change your mind, let me know.
I wonder what it goes for at the auction, maybe $2-3k?
The INS Co has the title because THEY totaled it. He won’t get squat but a check unless he buys the bike back from them.
If the damage is mostly cosmetic, $1k is an absolute steal. I’d expect it to go for at least 2 maybe closer to 3 at auction (considering you rode it to HH).
