My Build Thread LS1/FD Its Fast!

IanK does all of the pics for me. Maybe we should all text bomb him.

This is basically going to be a street car right? I would of left that sound deadening in, but im a old man.

The previous owner installed tons of dynamat type shit in the car so we have been working at removing most of that but we are removing some of the factory stuff while in there. He covered all of the drainage and vents in the car causing moisture issues.

I agree with you but the car is not going to see that many street miles so I decided to just make it as light as possible for a few reasons. Mostly being that a ls1/fd with a huge ass cam is going to be loud and shitty to drive no matter what. To be honest any fd is pretty loud and shitty to drive imo not a good old man car at all. But this one will be REALLY fast haha.

x100

god damnit, that fggt talked me into a wire tuck too. dont worry, while your asking him to help you finish the wire tuck he will be off somewhere ā€œhelpingā€ someone else and talking them into a wire tuck. lol

Yeah and I think he stole my chrome hammer haha

But for real how does he talk us into this shit? Next thing you know my entire car is federal gray, I have the flushest wheels under the sun, Some black carbon seats, and a welded diff.

But I <3 him he has helped a ton!

Where is Ian with pics? lol

where’s the nudez!!!?!?!?!?!?!

what the fuck else could you possibly want in life.
jondonsucksballs

o hhheeey!!

ā€œwhile I’m at itā€ I’ve said those words waaaay to many times myself. (don’t start working on your house). LOL

I recall the Cobra rear end swap being a good idea when you make a lot of power, there is even an FD cradle for it out there, however it’s more than Turbo2 rearends, that’s for sure.

X…

Fuck you guys guys. Jay talked to into a BRAKE line tuck too LOLLLLLL Gonna be dope though. Drew your chrome hammer has to be in my car somewhere, Oh and FUCK that motherfucker that put roofing insulation in as sound deadening.

There is also a redesigned cradle for the FD rear end that fixes most of the problems as far as controlling the diff movement and pinion angle. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like it’s part of the plans at this point.

The Cobra rear end is a much better solution, but it’s easy to spend $2-3k on it.

Cool build! I’ve been away from the site for the past few weeks (Mardi Gras:)…) but this was a nice thread to hit up.

Would like to hear/see more of the swap of the LS drivetrain…

You FGGTS and your FGGTY ASSUMPTIONS!

A diff brace was one of THE FIRST things I ordered.

Not my first rodeo you bunch of gays!!!

:hay:

That is already done…

I didn’t take any pics because to be honest it is kind of messy right now but if you can talk Ian into taking some then we can get some.

As far as what you want to know on the motor it is just the standard upgraded pushrods, springs etc etc and a big cam.

Not talking about the diff brace (which doesn’t even fit with the parts you have now), talking about the subframe. FGGTY FGGT!

FGGTY FGGT The diff brace on my car would beg to differ.

FGGT <3

You talkin about that samburg piece?

Yup. Anything to get rid of that godawful Hinson torque arm. Ugh.

Yeah that is on my list of things to do. We used that banzi diff brace and are going to make one of my own. Did you replace your diff bushings? With coilovers, delrin bushings in the diff and the brace I will be surprised if it hops. I am sure the diff will explode but at the cost of the other options I will just get a few spares probably.
