My Build Thread LS1/FD Its Fast!

This thread is going to do bad things to my wallet…

I can do that. Whatcha want?

I will sell you this one once it is done.

Um I am not really sure but I like what you did in the other thread and think it would be a cool addition.

No prob. I need all your Shit for a bit though. Cluster, HVAC, Switches, etc…probably good to do it now cause it is all out.

It would be good to see it all lit up OEM though…got pics? Google search is not helping.

I own two FD’s so If you want to come over I can show you what the stock stuff looks like in the other one. Although i think the previous owner did some type of light upgrade. Yeah I have all of the parts sitting in my basement right now.

lol I’m trying to convince myself to not buy a fun car until next year. But it will be on my radar.

Why didn’t you just carpet over the dynamat? You didnt like that it was there??

I’m down.

haha I do not know if I would really want to sell it. But late in the season I might put it up for what I think is a fair price and if it sells cool I can build another project. If not then next winter maybe I will hang out with my GF some. :ham:

Originally I pulled the tan carpet because I was switching to black and then I was like OMFG WTF IS THIS SHIT!!! Then I realized it was blocking the drainage and causing moisture to hold so I decided to get it out. Also with making the car as restored as I am I wanted to make the inside perfect and then paint the entire thing inside as well. Once it is at this point I have to decide what stuff I am going to put back in.

Originally I was going to do full interior in front of the seats and painted after. We shall see.

i think black would look better, even though you have tan seats
However i know you’re just thinking outloud and not asking for opinions

No No the tan carpet is not an option I don’t know why I even mentioned it. I am gong to be spraying the entire interior some gray color and I am trying to decide between how much interior I want to run. I kind of like the idea of dash, center counsel, and seats being it. Or to finish it off more I could do the front plastics as well and maybe the front carpet.

I think once I paint it I will install the stuff I know I want in and see how “finished” it looks and go from there.

Stock seats going back in? Stock steering wheel?

Let me guess… Jay or Ian convinced you to paint your interior Federal Grey

edit: You will get sick of not having carpets, your car will always have a dirty and metal smell to it in the summer… and i would run all the plastics you can. I Have them all out on my talon and it’s loud as shit and annoying

2edit: drive it without the plastics, drive it with the plastics and see what u like better, it’ll be a huge difference. it also looks alot cleaner, even if your interior is sprayed perfectly

I’d definitely run the trim pieces - otherwise it sounds like you’re riding a washing machine full of Grade 5 nuts down a flight of stairs.

Not an exaggeration at all. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have brand new recovered tan seats that I love. The stock fd seats are comfortable, not too heavy, and have great support so I will keep them(I think).

I have a JDM Nardi 99 spec wheel.

But I am switching to this I think:

HAHAHA

Anyhow I think I am going to my original plan. Basically as you sit in the seat it is 100% full interior and behind the seats will be painted.

Anyone ever make their own carpet before?

in that case, I think full plastics and carpets would be your best bet up front. The paint on the floors would probably get demolished with dirt and grit on the bottom of shoes and stuff.

Put a full interior in the car!

Word

Yes Deebo, Breetime has been screaming about some federal gray shit since the first time we started working on it. Dude is persistent!
