uhh…sorry?
Why? My post wasn’t directed toward you, or dan for that matter. I am just stating it is NOT an option. Hopefully for the last time.
You’re getting angrier then Carnut
I am poor. actually im poorer then poor because im installing a welded diff and not even a spool.
I put a LS1 with a huge cam, in my FD. Put 10inch wide ETdargs on and dumped the clutch 2 times and it broke?
whaaaaaaa…
The posts you guys make don’t even make any sense.
LZ-Yes im angry because dumb fucks won’t stop posting stupid shit in this thread.
Turbociv- Do you want me to apologize for not wanting to ruin my nice handling car with a welded diff or for the fact that I have money? Well sorry for both.(hint please don’t respond)
Studderin- You were there, I am in no way shape or form upset about blowing up my stock rear so I have no clue wtf you post is about.
anyone else?
Thanks,
Andrew
P.S. Since this is a build thread if anyone still even knows that. 8.8" install is mostly complete but it looks like I will need a new cat-back. I am going to philly for a much needed vacation and Pat will finish it if he has time. If not I will do it eventually. I didn’t take any pics because lets be serious. nobody cares.
ok I deleted all of the ABS and rear end discussion. and here is all I will say
Brent - Thanks for trying to help out and I agree with you that I would probably pull better track times with ABS intact. However I want to stick with building this car exactly how I like it and the bottom line is I prefer driving with no ABS. I will retain all of the equipment so if I change my mind down the road I can easily revert back to it.
Rear end discussion - I am installing the Ford 8.8" Independent Rear Suspension. This was chosen because I want to retain IRS because although I do love to drag race I built this car to handle as well so I decided it is best to stay IRS with a LSD unit. Again I acknowledge a spool/welded diff or a solid axle setup is probably the better solution for longevity however my concern is to keep the car how I like it while making it the strongest it can be in that criteria.
Update on the car - Pat and I worked on installing the new rear setup. Certainly not plug and play but it will work. He might finish it up for me if he has time while I am on vacation but if not I will do it eventually. Also it looks like i will need a new cat-back with this rear setup. Not a big deal but deff a bummer. Look forward to Chuck tuning in after its gets all together again and getting it back out!
Is there any way to cut and reweld the current exhaust thats on there? im sure it cant be that different is it? if u want i can look at it, i wanted to fix those other welds anyway.
Yeah that would be sweet man. Right where that bullet muffler is is where this thing needs to be down about an inch to pass under the new cradle.
It is at pats still if you wanted to go take a look.
What gears did u go with?
some reclocking would help but that 4 inch going under the subframe isn’t going to cut it.
i didn’t even know this was going on. nice drew baby.
Stayed with a 4.10
I think it will work just might hit sometimes. If the bends are made really tight I think we will end up a solid 1" lower. Also the bullet muffler might have to go. I will let him take a gander before any decisions are made cause I would hate to redo the entire thing.
<3 It is super dope I just hope I stop breaking it haha.
Hey Drew if the exhaust don’t fit I will buy you a pair
<3 <3 <3
HAHAHA That would be dope but im trying to keep this one quiet! I have two mufflers on it already. If I have to redo the entire thing i will go with a REALLY quiet muffler like the slp 2OTL style or something and put in an e-cutout.
It lives !!! Shitty cell pic, better ones to come.
pimp
What does it weigh?
awesome… if you were to sell it, how much would you ask?
2760lbs the way it sits with a full tank of gas. I will weigh it at the track on a 1/4 tank and the track wheels. Prolly about 2620?
A lot. But id never turn down a reasonable offer
