well i understand what you’re trying to say but it was the part about “all the little grooves packed with snow” that didn’t sound right
my tires have big contact patches… thats prob why
The plan is to get some. For 18 years, all seasons have done the job. It wasn’t until this combination of tire and vehicle that I have had this problem.
I should have some sense here pretty soon.
all seasons have always done the job for me too… even on my rwd vehicles… only problems I’ve ever had were with my cars with wide tires like 275’s
my mustangs with 245’s were fine, so was my Z28
4x4>*
WRONG 6x6 > 4x4
or snowmobile
I have never had snow tires and all of my cars do just fine in the snow. All seasons is all you need. If you have a mustang/camaro/sports car, get skinny all seasons and you’ll be golden. I’m sure snow tires help, but unless you live in northern Canada all seasons will do the job if you are somewhat careful how you drive.
My GTP dont go for sh#$ in the snow either. I mean I get around fine, but i struggle to do so. The best FWD car I have ever driven in the snow was a 96 sunfire with brand new tires. No power+skinny new tires = great in the snow. GTP has a lot of tq(even w/o boost) and has wider tires so it isnt that great in the snow.
yeah… i run 225’s in summer, 205’s to drag, 195 all seasons and 185 winter tires…
i get around without a problem… my turbo’d FWD vw gets up hills, this morning i passed an exploder trying to get up a hill :wtf:
My Yokohama’s are doing just fine…ON MY JEEP!!! My Si is put away for the winter. I love not putting it in 4x4 so it’s just rear wheel drive and going to the walmart parking lot (of any other that’s deserted) and doing donuts…
my camaro has issues in this weather, but not too bad. But my spirit turbo had no probs at all with the all seasons on it.
The torque isn’t keeping me from stopping though. I’m going with snow tires!
my gtp goes great, with kuhmo all seasons up front, goodyear rsa only 5/32 left on back .
jeff if you cant go, you have issues.
what??? look , 147000 miles, no special tires,i went to pittsburgh today,no fucking problem.i pass 4x4s in the snow lanes…have a little sense about driving.
It has to be the smaller wheel base… my CRX was a tank in the snow.
My integra goes well all things considered it has all seasons on it…if I could only figure out what my problem is with chewing tires down when my toe is perfect… mybe my frame is bent after all.
jeff get sams club winter tires a lil cheaper than blizzacks and just as good ! i ran em on my monte and the TA works fine as long as i dont do anything stupid
what? snow tires don’t work like that. there are two kinds. big lug/agressive tread tires with or without studs or soft compound tires like blizzaks that grip like little stubby fingers.
blizzaks work well on GTP’s considering you don’t burn them off (6bquik) they do smell pretty awful thou when there is no snow and on dry pavement. they wear easy.
would that really suprise you?
my cabby went better in the snow than my gti too!
yeah i went to my buddy at a dealer and bought the cheapest winter tires… they work fine !
Go To JJ"S and buy a 4wheel drive… And all your snow problems will be gone
