My current project .... designing VERY complete Ford T-bucket Plans ... 56k gtfo

oh man you should totally make it a widebody!

Ohh man you should totally give up on all your projects while they are half done, buy a done car so all the boys suck you off, and then sit around and act like a douchbag while putting down other peoples creativity and initiative. Oh man just be a attention fag and get mad because someone else might be doing something more creative and interesting then you. Oh man on man.

HRK, if you need anything modeled, i am decent at it. I like doing shit like that. Let me know… A straight line car doesn’t need sophisticated suspension geometry, so i retract my statement about needing anything overcomplex. SHould be an interesting project, however, are you actually planning on building this? Or just designing it? The reason i ask is because the plans will suck without actual design iterations. Some parts you have drawn could be designed a bit better, though they aren’t the finished product…

Anyway good shit Jay. You have some talent there. Follow through because It looks like this will be very cool when done.

the frame patterns for sparky …

wow

“front plate” style mount for a small block chevy …

and the bombr seat plans - need much finishing

I <3 T-buckets!

Probably one of the better threads ive read on this board, your designs look amazing. Keep us updated on anymore progress you make…

fixed all the pic links on the first page

as always, the big stuff is easy to design, but then when it comes to all the fine tuning progress slows to a crawl

i finaly broke down on the front suspension and angled the front framerails upwards 5* in order to get the front as low as i wanted, without having any of the pieces hand down more than inch below the bottom of the grill shell, which results in a bit of a trade off

if the front spring ever snaps, the grill and radiator will instantly be wiped out , but at the same time, the frame is less likely to dig into the pavement because it will have less of a downward angle when it contacts terra firma

theres a reason they call it “suicide style” front suspension … its because the frame doesnt land on the axle when a spring breaks …

more pics will be coming next week hopefully …

VVV the frame now

and how she lands if the spring snaps

^ nice safety touch with a function hotrodkid

I was looking at the drawings, very nice! But you need to put on a little weight.

i gotta ask axlerod on metalmeet to hook me up with a 3view of his CAD “driver” so i can put a realistic driver behind the wheel

the current ones just my own individual limb measurements , so that drivers approx 5’11 with size 10 shoes and 34" pants inseam

Creeps, your a fuckin wildman.

I love any vehicle that is out of the ordinary, I have hundreds of pictures saved on my computer, I’ll share a few. Maybe they will give inspiration, design ideas, or just humor~

rock on brotha :headbang:

i had given up on this project a while back because i had a Wiki article on HR.com which was constantly getting vandalized by people who thought they knew better then me on what should be in said Wiki article

but recently i joined a new forum and got back into the project, and now ive moved up to having some of my stuff laser cut …

first parts out of the gate: column drop brackets:

http://nyspeed.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=3872&stc=1&d=1204226047

the center one above is just a cutdown version of the flat one, which can then be welded in to a hairpin for the front or rear suspension, as a stiffener:

http://nyspeed.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=3870&stc=1&d=1204226047

also drew up some rear axle brackets, which are being quoted now:

http://nyspeed.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=3869&stc=1&d=1204226047

and then theres some rear buggy spring brackets that ive started on, the tab fits into the slot, weld them up, and add a piece of tube to the slot for the spring shackle to bolt to. makes for easy alignment during assembly and one less piece to try to hold / tack, ill eventually add a shock mount and make it mate to the backside of the above axle brackets for a one piece look

http://nyspeed.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=3871&d=1204225239

and just a couple front perches, spring over, spring under, different amounts of drop, some are 1/2 wrap on the crossmember, others are full wrap (have to be installed before the crossmember is welded to the frame)

http://nyspeed.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=3873&stc=1&d=1204226047

and then theres the adjustable rear perch im working on, something like 4 1/2" of adjustability depending on which holes you use for the bolts … 3/8" at a time

(see next post for that image)

heres the adjustable rear perch:

square plate fits between 2 of the piece shown below it, and 2 of the largest piece get welded to the frame

lowest postion uses the left side holes in each bracket, and as you move it up you switch the bolts from the left to the right to the left … . if that makes any sense

Yes. Do this shit up.

hell yea

feels good to be back at this project, feels even better that i hardly have to do any extra work to make $ at it

Hell yea HRK!!!
