my evo winter 08/09 teardown!

can you permanently set your readiness monitors with the EGR and Evap removed? only reason i ask is OBDII emissions requirements here in the great state of NY.

i have them totally disabled, so when i start the car the ECU wont even check to see if its there.

i just dropped a 0x0001 bomb into the periphery and bingo!

sweet. i like nerds.

Brian

There are a bunch of items you can turn off within tunes that the ECU will not check to see are functioning or present. This will eliminate the MIL that would normally be present. Since there is no MIL, when your car gets scanned for NYSI it will pass with flying colors.

I have a bunch of items turned off within my tune (rear o2s, egr system, fuel pump driver module) and pass with no problems.

Just awesome

I dont think it matters what you do, I dont think you will ever go as fast on the stock ECU as you can on AEM.

not trying to cause trouble but why is that? seems to me that certain afr’s and certain timing values = a specific power level. if everything is fairly accurate, there shouldnt be a difference.

Brian

Seems very true at the moment. Although I haven’t really browsed evom lately to see what people are doing now that the max load values are gone now. Hell, even if you can’t be AS fast as a standalone it’s a damn good alternative at this point as far as dollar value is concerned.

looks good paul

mmm, new clutch assembly and ported TB have arrived

whole clutch assembly weighs in at 18 pounds!

 awesome

What clutch is that? Twin, triple, metallic, carbon, etc… Looks pretty.

twin cera, this is rated for 800 wtq.

my old clutch is destroyed and it only had 1 1/2 seasons on it :frowning: so that was some of the issues that were caused to the 35r

Dan over at buschur called me a few hours ago and 3rd and 4th gear are completely shot

hahaha nice

That is a ba looking clutch setup

looks expensive, nice work paul

it is, but worth every penny from what i hear

yea its $$, but ya gotta pay to play…

800wtq wtf!! how is that clutch going to feel lol?

lighter than ever… the clutch will be so light its going to feel like a feather. but that is thanks for the hydralic TOB. no more damn pesky springs breaking

this will allow me to actually shift as fast as i possibly could
