LS/t56 swap this thing instead of all the JDM shit and have a fast car for probably less money than you will spend building a 4 banger.
LS swap kits start at $2k, last i heard. not including the engine/trans itself. maybe i’m wrong, but you can get an SR and trans for about the same price.

Haha nah that’s the actual parts list of what’s in it now (if you’re referring to my list in my first post). I’d love an LS1. Maybe if I keep the car long enough I would, but right now the SR is pretty good for me. I probably need a decent tune and a few more parts here or there and it’ll honestly be perfect for my intended use

well my back fenders were rolled so i can tuck the rears with no problem, i’m more worried about my fronts which is why i was thinking about throwing those tires back on my racing harts and just rock some mis matched wheels for a while haha i feel like i’ll take the easy/lazy route and just go for the mismatched wheels, the racing harts are pretty cool, plus i have spacers up front so the overall fitment could look boss without too much effort, then keep the other 2 varrstoens as drift spares (if i make it to that point haha)
ordered some coilover wrenches today from enjuku or whoever they are haha gettin down low soon! i’m also planning on either getting a powered by max skid plate or the one the enjuku sells (opinions?) i don’t have much time to fab one myself, plus it probably wouldn’t turn out as good as a real machined one.
my ebrake cable snapped as well, same day i cracked my header haha i have the z32 rear end… my question is if i wanna be ripping the hand brake and have it not break all the time, what pads/cable should i run? i know a decent amount about 240’s but i’ve never owned one so i’m not sure if it’ll hold up or do people mess with them a lot?
The cable shouldn’t break. You can run D1 pads in the rear but they are expensive. To slide out pop the clutch, then use the handbrake to keep from spinning out. There’s a bunch of ways to start a slide, just don’t wreck it :rofl
give me some seat time and i’ll be decent, i’ve just never had a car to actually do it in. now i just need to find some good parking lots or somewhere to try. and as for wrecking it, i won’t haha no worries there

got it back together. new clutch, freshly rebuilt turbo, fresh welds on the manifold, lowered it and took benny’s idea of running the varrstoens all around for now. i’m looking for some 215/40/18’s for my racing harts still though. i need to put my skid plate on, get an ebrake cable and adjust my clutch cause it started slipping on me today for some reason. that was a wonderful time getting towed home, oh well. i’ll get at it this week, i should hopefully be at lvd on the 10th! won’t be too pretty haha gotta learn at somepoint! should be fun
also learned how to weld and did my first patch work, not terrible haha
