my garage now with more TIG flavor

Picked up this guy last night. Came with the cart, a full tank, all the filler in the pics, some extra tungsten etc. $1k

Im pretty sure it was only used a handful of times in the last few years.

Now I need to get some 8awg wire run from the garage to the panel box. joy

Just a 110V craftsman. I forget the model.

A couple xmas ago I returned a wood chop saw and some other tools to buy it. I think it cost me 21 bux out of pocket after it was all said and done. lol Well not counting a tank.

Dan

nice, ive got a 110 hobart mig and really want to learn tig

dan, ill be calling you lol

Brian

Brian,

Looks like I gave you my phone number a day too soon :stuck_out_tongue:

Call me whenever. It may be a few days, or a week before I get it wired in. Prob gonna cost 200 bux just to wire the damn thing, haha.

If you need something done sooner I can still use my buddys dads TIG.

Dan

naah it wont be for a while. I will be making an intake manifold sometime. I just need to find a fire extinguisher lol. ill be making an exhaust manifold as well.

Brian

want to test it on soem things?

Brian,

I have about a 14" length of 1/8" wall 4"OD aluminum tubing left. If your looking for a plenum.

Dan

Got the welder wired in today with the help of my fater in law. Just ran out and tried it. Works sweet, I think Im gonna be in the garage alot now, haha.

Here is literally my first pass with it. I could never lay down a row like that on just a flat piece with my buddies TIG. Not sure if its the machine, or a different tungsten or luck.

Dan

I like it.
IM getting mine soon.

nice. I really like Miller machines.

What do you plan on doing with it that you can justify spending $1k on it? (which is still a good deal imho)

Shit, with all the material and stuff, even if you only use it 4 or 5 times, it’ll pay for itself vs paying someone to tig up something. Mix in some side projects and it could literally pay for itself.

It seems like Im always welding something or working on some new project.

Its just like any other tool… do I NEED it, not really, will I use it, hell ya.

Pretty much Im out of “small” tools to buy. Next on my list is a giant tool box, then a barn and lift :stuck_out_tongue:
