There are other cams that make the same peak and have a much better power band…

Im not saying his car is slow or anything that cam is just :tif:

Trapping 120 once while spinning hardly qualifys as 120 traps…

He is the 5th person I know with the specific cam and everyone else I know swapped it out for other cams and got better results…

IDK the cam seems to run well for him. 120mph traps are no joke on a stock heads full weight car. Anyhow I still say he needs a real tire and gear and then we will see it fly.

Anyone run a solid roller in there LS1’s. .700+ lift 280/290@.050… Anyone?

Yea i decided not to spray the car at least for the time being. im just nervouse about burning through where we fly cut. if the car lasts maybe ill spray it the last year the motor is in it. For right now i just want to go enjoy it. The cam will be fun enough as it is.

As far as Jims cam, it seems to work very well in his car. If innovatives dyno is accurate, his torque curve is very impressive, almost a straight line across. Not to mention his car isnt just a full weight F body either. my car weighs 3480 with me in it. i think jims car is close to like 3600 or more with him in it. its a fat pig. You may be right as far as if he were to swap to a diff cam he may see slightly better results, but with the way his car is performing its not worth messing with considering hes not going for the fasts cam ls1 or anything. As far as his 12’s its not the cam holding him back its the way the car leaves the line. it would be very impressive for a cam only car, even given the fast intake, especially at that weight to get into the 11s with a 60ft ranging anywhere from a 2.1 to a 2.3 60 ft.

Again I was not ripping on Jims car its fast…It would make sense that a cam with more mid range power(aka where he is launching) would have move his car that weighs more off the line better…

to this i say fuck off. i am not bitching about my results. all of you are. i ran a 12.2 new best. ran a 7.8 new best. best mph in the 1/8th also. go team. i’m fucking pissed at my transmission. again if you think you can do better with it give it a go. until then piss off. I was not spinning on my 120 trap. It was a 2.0 60 foot. Last year i was trapping 117-118 while bogging, i have plenty of witnesses to that. Since then firehawk853 added 10* of timing and got the AFR’s out of the 11.2 range :tup:

I know there are better newer cams out there, just not worth it to me to change mine. Mine seems to work well with my combo for whatever reason. I can run 12.0’s on a 1.9- 2.0 short time at the moment, after some new gears, skinnies up front and some nice tires out back i want to run 11.6-11.7 N/A.

Well me and turbols1 just got back to the shop and while i am waiting for the track vids to upload, i will share this vid i just took. CHuck (firehawk853) is tuning it at the moment, and has it running without help :lol:

Thats a bigger cam then I’d ever run in a 346, but it dose have the sounds alot of guys like. What springs do you have, dosn’t look like to aggressive of a lobe to beat them down like some of the other donkey dick, cam only cams do
Don’t worry about stock pistons being weaken buy a fly cut. Your butt the top ring and pop the land off, or melt down thu to the pin, way before any damage form the flycut. Lou form LG has said he sprayed a lot on a stock shortie with deep as .120 both, and I people have gone mid 9’s on stock shortblocks flycut with big hits :tspry:

You said you were taking out the trex and moving back to your old smaller cam…

Drew and I were discussing combos…If you run the TReX and your car is full weight you need to be willing to run a lot of gear because it won’t perform well.

I wouldn’t hack up your car its to nice…and you drive it on the street a lot of changing out gears isn’t an option I think there are better cams for you to help you reach the goals for your car.

I didn’t realize you had a thunder racing 231/237 and not a TSP one…Thunder racing uses more aggressive lobes and has better results.
