My mom overheated the motor in her car

so the other day my mom is driving and the CEL goes on, she calls me and tells me, i ask if the car is running ok, and i say dont worry about it call me if it starts acting weird, and ill scan it when you get home… 5 minutes later she says the car overheats while she is driving and it overheats spectacularly… sooo i take a look at the car today and notice im not getting any spark (coil on plug) so i change coils (18 bux at autozone) and i get spark, i am also getting fuel (pulled spark plugs and you can smell gas on them) so try to start the car again and still nothing… so i pull the plugs and run a compression test and i get 30-25-30-30 now mind you its supposed to be 200psi and it was done on a cold engine… so i poured a lil oil down and doesnt change compression, so im pretty sure she cooked the motor…

anybody have any suggestions? the car stilll doesnt start and i already have a new motor on the way, but im hoping its just the head (i doubt it)

i couldnt figure out why it overheated either, both rad lines were fine, it also is full of coolant so im guessing the thermostat stuck

Damn bro, I know u needed low comp for boost but 25?? Do a leak down test. If u fail I think u may need rings and a hone.

i got a motAR on the way

i havnt done a leakdown test, at the very least i need a new head so we shall see

umm… what kind of car? what year? what engine? Ive overheated honda accord engines many times. I recall one car, the guy had ran the engine out of antifreeze and warped the head (he got it VERY HOT, the timing cover melted to the ENGINE) we just swapped heads, got a new radiator and headgasket and the bottom was in excellent shape much to our surprise, it ran great.

its a 2002 mazda protege 5… we will be pulling apart the motor in the car to see what it looks like

btw it has an aluminum block and head, which is why i think it got damages so quickly
