She’s a seven week old Dalmatian pup named Bella. I’ve wanted to get a dog for a long time, and so has the gf so we finally got one. She’s been good so far, doing well with potty training, just tends to bite sometimes because she’s teething still. Like most young dogs, she has a little bit of separation anxiety, so she hates being in a cage.
We picked her up in Pennsylvania, a good five hour drive. She slept all five hours, without needing to go to the bathroom or anything. Overall, she’s awesome. Our cats are attempting to get used to her around, but because the pup thinks they’re playing around when they hiss, she starts to bark and pounce.
No matter how much she cries in the cage right now, keep her in there! It will only get worse as she gets older.
My dog has TERRIBLE separation anxiety. It’s gotten to the point where we’ve had to medicate him on a very low dose of veterinary prescribed medication for it. As this is not going to be a permanent thing because of health issues down the road it can cause we are using it as an aid to help him adjust.
My lab was the same way when we got her. An hour drive out in the boonies, rode the whole way home on the wifeys shoulders haha…
For months would be upset if we dident put her on the bed with us when we went to sleep and used to sleep on my head… Now shes almost 2 and still thinks she can sleep on my head :rofl
