1.8L Escort GT swap is pretty popular, end up with 160hp in a 1700lb car. Lots of guys turbo them too. Hell, there was even a car called a SHOgun, where they took a fiesta and put a Taurus SHO motor in the back and made it RWD. Ran 12’s. This one however is staying stock, save for maybe a 5 speed swap if the auto blows (which it undoubtably will). It is a re-badged Kia Product, it has a 1.3L engine, and you need a calander to measure 0-60, but the savings in gas and insurance are great.

It is a re-badged Kia pride, just like the ford aspire. Mazda also had a version in europe and japan called the 121.
Daewoo also had re-baged cars here during the 80’s/90’s aswell before they established their own name - and failed. Remember the Pontiac “le mans” and Chevrolet “optima” those were GM.
Much like how the current chevrolet aveo, epica and optra are just rebadged Daewoo’s after GM boughtout daewoo.
