My Project: 1972 El Camino $$

As some of you may have seen Ive currently got another '72 but after mainly just some exterior and powertrain modifications we decided to take a full on frame off restoration. The car is a 1972 El Camino SS 350 but that will soon change. Plans are to set the car up for Road Racing but also be able to be cruise around town easily:

-Sonic Blue or Cyber Grey paint
-Custom interior with RacePak IQC
-Boosted LSx and 6spd swap (keeping FI) hoping for a solid 550whp
-Built 12bolt rear end
-Extensive brake and suspension work and parts
-Full cage
-Custom forged wheels (not sure of brand/style yet) for the street and CCW classics for the track

Ill post up some more pictures here shortly when I go back to my parents house to work on her. Its currently in primer and all the bodywork is done. She is ready to be taken off the frame and have the frame sent in for powder coating.

leave the beat up look and drop a twin turbo 572 in it.

Looks good…

You should bring it up to Pittsburgh for the cage…

if you have any questions about the lsx stuff fire away. i have Lq4 in my el camino. built boosted ls1 for a customer. i am hoping to do forced induction on my car some day.

the car looks clean almost jealous you can find rust free shells easily.

 nice build,we have a n/a 98 s-10 blazer 2wd that goes 10.40’s

x2. Nice build. That shell looks pretty nice. Does Kansas have alot of nice sheetmetal left?

Ehh, if you know where to look. This car came from TX and the onyl bit of rust was in the rear window channel and its all fixed now. I think we got really lucky with finding it. Id rather be building a C3 vette but oh well.

Nice shell… I got my nova out of arizona a year ago…cant go wrong with southwest metal
