here are some pics of my 200.
Mods are pretty light as my turbo has gone on me in the last little while.
a guy at my school used to have that car…it’s a quick car
Looks similar to mine. cept mine is full of rust on the sides and whatnot. I may take a 3rd crack at my bondo skillz and clean it up this summer. My turbo just blew too so I am at a lul right now. But with 270,000 km on it I dont think I want to push the turbo to much. That is unless I hear from my buddy at Yoko Engines. I have him looking into a CA18DET for me. But I gotta fix the body first before I decide if its worth it.
shit man, i love the sleeps with projector lights. When you turn your Headlamps on do they automaticly go that high, or do you have to adjust them every time? Love those projectors though. We’re gonna hook up and you’re gonna show me how if they do go up to that level on their own.
I beleive osme guys were making the sleepy eyes with limit switched mounted under the lights. so when they go down that far they trip the switch and make them not go down any farther. Then you can turn them on and have them go up all the way. They just dont go down all the way.
On some cars you can do it by just putting something hard underneath there. The motors have auto off features so they dont crush somebodies hand if it were in there. So as soon as the light hits the hard spacer they turn off. Im not sure how it works on the 200 though I havnt had it long enough to see
problem with that is the lights dont tend to go at exactly the same speed…
Thats an easy one. You put a switch on each light. So it wont cut the power to both motors at once. It will ONLY cut the power to the motor on the light that its hitting. With those switches you can also bend the metal tab that hangs over so that you can fine tune how low each light goes. Then they will be symetrical. I havnt done it like that myself, but I do know some people do it that way. It may be hard or easy depending on the vehicle
well i’ve got an s12, lol. Another kinda hard thing might be mounting projectors like those though.
I have one as well, but I only had it in my possesion for about 2 weeks before I blew the seal on the turbo. SO now its in the shop awaiting a transplant from a used one I picked up from the wrecker. Doing the sleepy eyes was on my list of “Next to free mods that I can do myself” If I beat you to it I will do up a DIY on it so everyone can see what I am talking about.
I also have some other tricks that I will be doing to the car that I will most likely be making some DIY’s on.
If you beat me to it though then show us what you did. Then I may do it that way, or still do it my own way. (I am pretty stubborn)
heh, yeah the s12 is great fun to mess around on, i love it. Sleepies should be fairly easy i guess, just gonna take a bit of time, and gotta figure a good way to mount those killer projectors. I’d really like to make it a bit of a head turner, cause as it is most people looked right past the s12 to the s13.
the headlights were pretty easy i just put in a switch that stops the lights on there way down. very easy. i also need a turbo as my bearings are almost gone. if anyone knows of a t25 or even a t-28 for sale let me know.
Too bad I beat you to the one at Pick Your Part eh?
yeah but thats ok i got the fuel pump and some other things from it. There was a SAAB 9000 there as well with a mint ass turbo still in it but i came back the next day and it was gone. I was looking at some of the chryslers but damn are they alot of work to pull the turbo out.
