I looked thorugh the FSM and couldn’t find anything.

The drawing looks sort of like a catalytic converter. Maybe it warns if your cat is overheating…?

Weird that’s the same local of my wiper fluid light, which is currently on lol.

Just noticed this post. Took me forever to figure it out when I got it with my car. Orginally thought it was the windsheild washer fluid, but its an exhaust temp warning light for Turbo applications.

Essentially - over heating turbo warning light for SR20DET. A good warning to have. I’ve go mine hooked up but haven’t seen the warning yet

Hooked up to what sensor?

The guy that was explaining it all to me didn’t mention the sensor location. He was just telling me about it and why it was used. I neglected to ask about the sensor. Next time I see him I will ask.

The Sensor is located in or before the CAT depending on the year of the vehicle. This sensor will only work if you have used the Stock DP or Stock CAT from a Front Clip.

My stock DP didn’t have any extra sensors. Don’t know about the cat since I didn’t get it with.

But whats the sense of having the sensor in the cat?

Exhaust Gas temps can tell you a lot about the conditions of your motor (air/fuel)

But unfortunately most people assume that an EGT probe is an effective tuning tool.

If you don’t care about WHY … lean makes the temps go up … but detonation makes the temp go down.

But if exhaust temps are spiking, it’s a good sign you’re running lean.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this sensor somehow wires to the ECU and if cat temps get too high, maybe it goes into limp mode, or just richens up the mix. :dunno:
