:rubicant:
wow. that sucks. hes damn lucky about the piece that came at the floor, if it had come out through the bellhousing just a tiny bit sooner the floor wouldnt have deflected it AT ALL
thats what they get for A) sucking at trying to do a burnout and B) having a 5 speed
WOW
I am curious as to what he did wrong to cause his clutch to explode.
nothing wrong with doing a burnout with a 5 speed, or 6 for that matter. At this power level, parts break.
it would have been different if the tires actually spun.
At his power level he should have been able to break them loose. It honestly looks like he blew the clutch on purpose.
to me, it looked like he barly let the clutch out at all, and I mean barly, and just hammered on the gas, where if he would have let the clutch out more, it would have roasted the tires.
Im not buying his BS clutch slipping argument.
read down comments…
"The car was rear ended 2 months before this. It damaged the rear end and bent the driveshaft.
Insurance only covered it because it was possible that the impact from the accident compromised the integrity of the trans and/or the clutch assembly. They know exactly what equipment I have in the car and that the clutch was supposed to be adequate for the engine’s power level. So it didn’t matter that it happened when I was screwing around, the clutch should have held, period."
I know, I was kind of confused by this.
especially since my old cammed LT1 could roast the tires on accident by just letting the clutch out too fast from a light if i wasn’t careful o.O So I could only imagine how easy it would be with such a car.
stuff like this always happens on camera for 1 reason: the person knows they are being recorded and are feeling pressure not to fuck up, so they fuck up.
well holding the brakes and doing a burnout is bad for the clutch.
I cant remember which for sure, but it was either RPS or SPEC that not all that long ago was having quite a few failures in the Vipers at least. Eventually it was tracked down to them using re-branded and cut down pressure plates, which were weakened to the point of possible failure at higher temperatures. I didnt watch the whole video, but did they list the manufacturer?
looks like he just completely failed doing a burnout to me.

“that was not the tires”
lol.
speaking of which, my dad fried a clutch on a new interceptor he bought a few months back after getting a hole in the tire… (about 2 months after he bought it).
since they can’t patch them, he went to do a burnout at the honda dealership with the guys there telling him how, and ended up smoking teh clutch instead.
Still worked, just slipped hardcore.
ask VWOP about Spec clutches exploding… they had to do the work to replace an R32 trans case b/c one popped.
Screw that. Never ever use a spec.
This is what a scatter shield is for.
this video convinced me to get one for the camaro.
And then he pops the hood. Oops… the hood isn’t in the back. lol. He sucks so bad.
Is he crying in the end?
ahahaha woww…yeah my dad told me about the clutch coming thru the floor, and now i know lol
