I’d prefer a straight child only because it’s harder in school and life in general for homosexual kids IMO. If he happened to be gay, have sex with gays, and marry a gay I’d be ok with that.

Im sorry but I disagree. I could not go to sleep at night stress free knowing my child is a drop out / burn out.
Just because someone prefers something doesnt make it right. Im sure a murder prefers not to be in jail, im sure the Gov prefers to keep us down, and im sure a gay person prefers that thier child would pick the same sex they are. I know cuz I have asked a gay person that. He said he would rather have his son have pictures of men on his wall.
I think there are more people out there that would rather have their child get married to a different sex then the same but are too afarid to speak out. Case in point my buddies parents. FOR YEARS…YEARS growing up I would go over to their house and his parents would mock gays. Theyd call me gay for not having a girl friend (I would laugh as did they) and next thing you know one of their children gets dumped by their boy/girl friend and turns gay. At that point the parents shrug their shoulders.

I know plenty of gay people, and to be honest…they are the nicest individuals I’ve ever met. Why wouldn’t we want them to raise children? Pay taxes? All because at night, in the bedroom, a place that NONE of us should have ANYTHING say about what OTHER people do…they kiss and shit?

Personally I’m pro-gay marriage but I’m not going to get upset when it gets voted down. Marriage has been continually evolving throughout western history. It started as a highly religious ceremony and has slowly and methodically moved farther and father into a government procedure as society becomes less religious. With each generation you’ll find more acceptance and more states allowing gay marriage. Is it right that something that like marriage that many view as a right of all people be forced to slowly gain acceptance? Probably not, but that’s how the world works. An activist judge did not free the slaves, nor did an activist judge give women the right to vote. Social change takes work and time to sway people’s opinion. A certain way to mobilize people to fight this change is to attempt forcing it’s acceptance through the courts. That’s what we’re seeing happen as states pass amendments restricting gay marriage. When people are on the fence about a subject, as many are with gay marriage, they do not react well to a single judge attempting to decide the issue for them.

I don’t think that you are paying attention, that or I am not being clear enough. Do I want my child to be a low life? NO, will I be ok with it if they are, NO. This is the argument that religious people make against gay relations “that it is a choice”. Well I firmly disbelieve that being friends and family with a lot of homosexual people. Doing drugs and dropping out of school is a choice. Marrying someone that you love should be a right. I didn’t turn 18 and choose that I liked girls so I would marry my wife, I was born with a natural feeling that girls made my dick hard. Sorry, but I find it very hard to believe that we evolved from a monkey(why didnt the other monkeys evolve then) which came from other creatures, that came from a fish that learned how to breathe and walk, that came from little things in the ocean, that came from a big bang. Scientists agree that if the earth was 1" closer to the sun it would be to hot for life and 1" farther it’d be too cold. I have a hard time believing that “BOOM” stars, planets, moons the sun all flew into space and we just got lucky enough that the earth was in its perfect place plus rotation to sustain life. Look at the human body and whats around you, there’s so many complex things going on. Even just typing this my body is doing things Im unaware of.
If im wrong and your right, then I lived a good life and when I die I wont exist, I wont even know I existed and everything will be over. Absolute nothingness. Total 0. Blank. Over. Done.

I cant stand bible crazed people running our country. What happened to the freedoms. Able to practice your own religion. What if gays have a religion that consist of allowing them to be married… you are taking away the rights from them. Who says they cant be christians and get married… its what they believe in and everyone interperates religion differently.
Its really funny when people start bringing up what is said in the bible, yet most of the people that preach it, dont follow it step by step… so why do you have to on this one? Oh well, this is why keeping the government out of social issues is the only answer. The government should only exist to keep others’ rights from infringing on your rights. Personally my love for my wife doesn’t depend on other people I don’t know, so my marriage is just as meaningful regardless of gay marriage. Adam’s right to marry Steve or Bob or Bill or kermit the frog does not in any way infringe upon my right to marry who I want. It doesn’t have anything to do with me. Hence, it’s none of the government’s business. None of misguided religion’s business either.
