actually… you’d be surprised at what a wheel guy can do for you.
if it was a painted wheel, you could actually use filler the fix the curbage and then repaint/ re powdercoat. if you really like the wheels and wanna try and save it, try giving this guy @ alloy wheel repair specialists a ring. his name is ken mallete. he fixed some nasty bends in a wheel for me and the work is top notch, with a fast turn around time. let me know if you need help finding the number.
Pete, right? Thanks for the info man, thats much appreciated. I’ll give him a call once I get the major stuff sorted out and I see what my money situation is like. Worst case scenario, I’ll be rolling on the stock 16"s for a while.
We just got the wheels off today and stocked up on more tools. But I removed half of a tension rod, the other half is still bolted in. lol The shock blew and the spring is bent and my caliper is leaking badly. The lower control arm is FUCKED and needs to be replaced. But other than that, I think I’m straight. I still want to check out the back right wheel well for damage, it hit the curb as well but not nearly as hard so hopefully theres no suspension damage. On the plus side, I’ll be sitting an inch or two lower on KYB’s and Eibach’s and may get my 18"s powdercoated a new color.
I’m almost done pulling all the damaged parts. The nut that connects the lower control arm to where the wheel hub assembly is, is the only thing giving me a bit of trouble. I should have everything but the shocks/springs removed by tomorrow though.
I got everything pulled last night and I’m starting to get my new parts together. I got around to prepping the stock 16’s for paint today. They’re completely sanded and polished with 250 grit. I’m painting them gunmetal silver with a chrome/polished lip. Basically the same color scheme that I’ve got going on with with the 18’s. The Z is gonna be sitting almost 3" lower with the 16"s and the new Eibachs on :banana, this should be fun.lol
Thanks dude I appreciate that. I might need some help with the shocks/struts when the time comes, I still haven’t decided whether or not to take it to a shop for the install.
