It’s kind of late in the season so I probably won’t find anyone who can do it this year, but I don’t even know who to call. The mortar was repointed and the cap fixed a year ago but I never got around to getting it repainted.
It’s too high for me, and half of it is way above the roof so I don’t even know how you would get at it.
on this note: I didnt realize I was until I was in the stratosphere tower about to ride those fucking rides. Also again when I was at the top of the La Sagrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona.
lol
I remember the 1st dat I started tearing off my roof. I thougt to myself…
WTF was I thinking… This is really f’ing high. The back side is 20’ straight down.
is this a 2 leve house? or what? lol how steep is the roof…i will do it go you any rope and and lets see some pictures… i have to paint a chimmey once it only a cape code so wasnt too bad but if its a full 2 stories with a attic will pass lol
Cant be much taller hen my house, mine is three stories and I did the roof on that bitch this summer. Les see a pic, I might be willing to go up there for a half hours worth of extra cash.
You see, it’s not just a fear issue. Reaching the back side of the chimney is actually a problem.
Since these pictures were taken a steel cap was put on the top and all of the bad mortar was repointed, so it’s in good shape now. Just needs some UGL paint.
I did stop by when the masons were at lunch the day they fixed the mortar. They had a couple of 6’ ladder sections that would hook over the point of the roof and then onto each other, if that makes any sense. I still don’t know how they got to the top of the house-side of the chimney though.
That awning over the porch is not load bearing, FYI. It barely supports itself.
