So this kid my hubby has worked with, says this is in cherry condition, and is wanting to sell it for seemingly low $ from what I see on the internet as far as “mint” condition 69 vettes go. He’s in a bad money situation and needs cashflow (read: divorce) What should we look for to make sure it’s all original etc (matching #'s seems to be a big thing in descriptions–what numbers need to match? block? vin?) Could this be a good investment if we were to keep it in the “cherry” condition?
I am a import girl, but have always wanted an older vette, but know nothing about them…thanks for any help. fingers crossed that hubby doesn’t come to his senses about this lol
the 69 vette does not have a real value or market for them. If the price is right then why not. Biggest things to look for are the steering and brakes. Depending on where the car is I would take a look at it for you.
If the car is a real big block it is worth buying . i would say look at the rear frame rails and the bird cage for rot or repair . i would not buy the car if the car was repainted a diff color than orignal . the motor and trans will have the vin stamped on it and is a good place to start . best bet is try this CorvetteForum - Chevrolet Corvette Forum Discussion? the guys on there are very helpfull and give you all the info you need . i am working on my Corvette now and wanting it finished up for summer if cash flow is good . Good Luck Shawn
