i have a little oil coming from my cam seal on my b16 and i wanna fix it asap but i dont feel like ordering parts and waiting anybody got new oem or after market cam seals for a b series motor?
advance auto might.
well i was reading online and alot of people were saying the aftermarket ones were better because they had the rubber gaskets in them and the oem ones dont so i was trying to see if anyone had any aftermarket ones just sitting around
Nothing ever beats OEM when your talking about hondas
so u saying i should just go to honda and get oem cam seals not the aftermarket cam seals ?
yup
maybe ill do that then thanks
i think which ever ones you find first will work fine, as long as they are installed properly.
whats it cost to do something like that im not looking to break my pockets but i dont wanna do it myself and fuck it up even more i just know thats where the oil is leaking from and i hate a dirty motor
depending on their condition, you might want to pick up a new valve cover gasket set and timing belt as well. If you have done a timing belt before then you should be able to handle this, if not definitely pay to have it done. i am sure with all the “professionals” on this site someone would be willing to help you out for a few bucks +/- some beer.
i was gonna get a new gasket and some hondabond
I have yet to have one leak from my aftermarket aluminum seal.
Whoa whoa. In regards to leaky cam seals, OEM is not the way to go. I do have a BNIB golden eagle billet cam seal, red in color for B and H series motors.
I think he’s talking about the distributer side guys not the timing belt side.
yea not the timing belt side
if any one has any cam seals tho let me know lol
Well 6spdeg had one :lol
Yeah Underboosted just picked mine up :rofl
i have an aluminum one in that case… you said “seals” so i assumed you meant the timing side.
how much u want ?
