Need classic plate advice...

I’ve been thinking about getting a classic plate for the ‘87 TR, since I only plan on driving the car on weekends, and I can avoid the cost of emissions inspections. Plus it’s a one-time fee, so I wouldn’t have to shell out $36 a year for the plate sticker.
My question is, do I need to provide 4 pics of the car to get the plate? Not a big deal, I was just wondering if they had to be regular 35mm pics, or if printed digital pics would work?
Also, the form says, and I quote, “Permitted use shall be limited to club activites, exhibits, parades, occasional transportation and similar uses. Occasional transportation and similar uses is defined as one day a week.
One day a week? OK, including weekends, or just one day period? And who’s to know what day I would choose to drive the car? Say I got pulled over for something on a Wednesday. Could the cop really say anything about the plate? All I’d have to say is “today’s the day I chose to drive the car”. Way to friggin’ vague, if you ask me…
Like I said, it’s going to be a weekend car only, unless I decided to drive it to work on a sunny Friday or two over the summer, or if something else breaks on the Jetta, and I need to drive the TR.

Any opinions are appreciated.

if you followed all the rules you would never be able to do anything. I know people with classic plates and drive their cars a lot during the week and the weekends, nobody is going to care.

you need 4 pics one of each side, any will work.
you can drive the car 5000 miles a year just not to work
then you can drop your insurance and claim a specific amount like 15000 on the car.
you will not need to worry about emissions anymore or catalytic convertors.
or even yr stickers on the plate either

for a few of my cars i don’t have to have a classic plates for classic insurance but there are some restrictions. but $150 a year for cars i do drive maybe once a week is well worth it. Look into classic insurance.

Classic plates on mine (TR), been pulled over twice.

No issues with how often I drive it, just how fast…

I drive it to work once a week, insurance thru State Farm at $10K is $72 every 6 months.

Mark,

Bring that car over, I got a bunch of parts to bolt on it.

the pictures have to be on film, i tried the digital and was rejected. also make sure there isn’t anything in the background to clutter the picture. i took pictures in the parking lot with other cars and was rejected. also make sure the car looks stock as possible. but the plate was worth it. liability insurance was cheap i paid 4.52 per month and gave me multi car discount. then a friend of mine borrowed and totaled the car with a deer.

i used digital pics and it was excepted fine.

maybe some notoaries are different then. or could have changed by now. it has been a couple of years since i tried. definitely easier with digital.
