Ya it is worth it but at least have someone there to maybe help show you for your first time. I can not cound how many have been done wrong and then it fries a bunch of power and ground wires under the dash.
All these are simple things… I could prolly give you a hand If you drive to markham… My wires were all cut too… and deck n speakers taken out. If you get the parts… Oil/Plugs/Filter I can show you how to do it so ull do em for free from now on. Pm me
Yeah, the deck situation isn’t an issue anymore since I got my 240 a few days ago, and the wiring problem was with my Celica, which I sold. I’ve also learned to do my own oil changes/oil filters, but have to resort to using a ghetto home-made ramp Still need to learn how to do my own tune-up!(change spark plugs T_T)
when do u plan on doing it?
umm a few weeks from now probably…something like late May/early June
a blind folded handy capped monkey could change the plugs!! its pretty easy, like i described before, get the socket that fit’s(1/2inch i think been a while!!) tke the plugs out, with ur hands put the new ones in, make sure u put them in straight or you will fuck something up(block or plug) if it tightens right away ur doing it wrong, try it again. once in there straight, give it a 1/4 turn, u want it tight, but not to tight… how many times have i said that!!! j/k, it’s pretty basic, i’d do if you for, but i’m not driving to ont to change some spark plugs! if u really need or want i can give u detailed pictures and or video clips of a step by step process.(which motor u got in ur car??) i’ll use my car and i can give u an idea, if ur motor is different from mine, then it might be different(sohc - dohc, totally different plug location) but the idea is still the same, just the placement of the plug is different, and usually there is a plate or cover over the plugs. once you do it the first time u’ll know how to do it forever, it’s pretty simple and easy. pm me if u want those pic’s/vid’s. it will be a good guideline for you to use and something u can save and come back to if u ever forget a step, or not sure what to do. peace.
does your motor look like this, it kinda dawned on me that u woudn’t know engine codes or probably wouldn’t be able to tell me what motor. so if ur motor looks like that were in business, but if u have a sr20, or a ka24de then its gonna be different.
lol mikey mech inclined ? lol i remeber that honda universal hub into a 240 attempt u did … ricer!
Omfg Bwhwahhahahahahhaahha =)
lmfao, i’d rather blow up my car then put something honda on it!! i f*cking hate honda with a deeeeep passion.
Plugs are easy to do. Just make sure not to drop any foreign object in the hole when you have the plug out. I believe it is a 3/8 spark plug socket that fits, not 1/2. Does anyone here index your plugs at all? I know it probably wouldn’t make any difference, just wondering.
index? wtf is that? i gap my plugs but thats about all i do to them.
it is where you make sure the ground is on the side away from the intake ports.
you deck and the wires in your car should all match up match the colors strip the wires twist them and put electrical tape over the twisted wires and ur done
itds a 3/8 for spark plugs, and im almost positive ngk br6 are pretty much the exact gapping you need, well for my sr the gapping has been perfect BUT dont slack on checking the gap even if u think its right. One or more can be dented from packaging.
also doing a tune up F*** the stock air box, just get a open intake ffs.
yea. thats a must…if you dont know where the oilfilter is, its right next to your second tranny…you cant miss it.
Well if you don’t know what you doing, don’t list to these guys over the net… you need someone to show you with your hand the amount of pressure you need to apply… you might over-torque it to make sure its tight and strip the threads in which case you’ll end up with a plug through your hood. Or you’ll under torque it and in which case you’ll end up with a plug through your hood. Don’t mean to scare you there is a range you do it in and its fine, but if you’ve never done it before I don’t suggest you do it without someone to help you.
The colors on the Wires of the head unit will not match the factory colors, If you are in the mississauga or oakville area I can help you with your deck.
I just read more of these post,
Never mind
Yeah, I’ve been through 2 cars in the past month, so haven’t really needed help installing a deck as of yet. I’m planning on buying my 3rd car (for keeps this time hopefully:rolleyes: lol) as soon as this weekend and have also purchased a new deck for whichever car I buy next…so I will possibly need some help with installation once I get my car
do your self a favour and get a wireing harness kit from ct or some where
then if you want bring it by to me and ill solder(cant spell) it up for you then you plug it into the car and you plug the other end into the deck easy and clean and removable. and you will need a nissan antena plug adapter seeing as the antena is different.
