Good, cheap audio work shop (or help on DIY)

Well, I have all the components I needed to finally set up my system on the 240. Now I need help wiring it… Currently: Infinity Kappa 6.5 components up front, 4*6 rear, connected to factory deck, amp, etc… Fronts are barely audible, rears are audible (but not loud) I know that this is b/c the rears are using the factory amps and the fronts are not. I have a Kenwood 4ch amp and a Panasonic deck that I’d like to use with this setup. Now I was thinking that it would make more sense if I just ran new wires instead of fiddling around and trying to make it work by bypassing the stock amp and re-using the stock wires. That and new wires = better sound. Being the n00b that I am, I don’t know how to do this, so I figured I’d pay a shop to do it (I figure it can’t cost that much neway) If you know a good place to do this that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg, plz reccomend it. I’d also be willing to pay someone on the forum to do it. One more thing… I can install the deck myself (with stock lines), should I even bother, or…?

An estimate would be required if you’re offering to do the work.

And ofcourse even better would be if you could point me to some instructions to how to tackle this task. Where to run the wires, how to wire the amp, deck, etc…

So all of the stuff is mounted and installed just needs to be wired up?

Is the Deck installed?

Are the components installed?

Come by Bestbuy Sherway this upcoming Sunday I’ll take a look at it if you want.

Presently, only the speakers are installed in the car, with everything else stock. The deck & amp are sitting in my room looking pretty  I can’t come this sunday for the following reasons: midterms, battery on car isn’t charged, car is on some very worn rubber that I’d never take outside in the winter, car is not certified, e-tested, have real plates, or insurance  I wanted to get a few phone numbers and get estimates, but I’d be doing this close to May 1st. First I’ve gotta haul my rims & rubber in the corolla’s trunk to get them mounted & balanced, apply them to the car, get cert & emissions (not even sure how… prolly gonna drive it there with fake plates), get real plates (yay!), insurance and then finally get the audio installed. I did the speakers myself b/c I had them, it didn’t seem too difficult to do and I had time to kill.

If you want I’m gonna be in T.O. on the weekend of the 7th of May. I’ve been doing competition stereo’s for years so something like this is no big deal. Make you a deal. You supply dinner I’ll do the installation and wiring.

Honestly it’s not that hard. I mean what’s so complicated about hooking
up a bunch of speaker wires? Everything is marked and comes with
instructions. I’m a total n00b when it comes to car audio but I pretty
much wired up my shit. Grab a piece of paper and mark out your +ve
and -ve wires and where they should go.

So are you just installing an aftermarket amplifier to power your front
and rear speakers?

Running new wires is gonna be fun for you. I advice you to do it yourself
rather then get a shop to hack it (no offence Jantos).

But hey, it’s your call in the end.

I’ll help you out, no charge, just feed me or something.

w00t! I’ve got two people willing to do it for f00d! To make sure you do a good job, I’ll offer you GOOD f00d  Mandarin Buffet sound okay? That’s pretty high in my book as far as good f00d goes.

Gonad - I dunno where to run the wires… Under the carpet? And then there’s the whole fiddling around with the dash which I know will take a long arse time, and getting the speaker wires to the door somehow. I enjoy DIY jobs, but I’m not all that creative/smart by myself. Feeding an expert to work with me and help me/guide me through the process sounds best to me. I mean, I get to learn how to do it, and know for sure it was done right. I get to buy sick arse cables instead of el-cheapo ones that might be put in if I’m not looking.

This is perfect, thx a lot crew, since this way it can be done in my driveway, I can go buy the wires and we can do this sooner than May (or in May, whatever works) as soon as it stops being so damn cold outside!!shakes fist at sky

I would be willing to help i have been doing custom installs for years aswell. using aftermarket wiring will make a quality much better and make it easier to run wires. i would help i enjoy doing it anyway… where are you located…
Brent

I’m located in Woodie-bridge, if it’s too much of a pain for you to drive and you live decently near (GTA), (this applies to anyone that wants to help), I can swing by and pick you up in my pimp VVTi 'Rolla

Hey, the day is drawing near, so I was wondering if people are still up for this. I would be able to do this tommorow, or this weekend. Tell me what kind of wires I need to buy, and how much of it I’ll need.

Deck, 4Ch Amp, 4 speakers (no subs, additional amps, or caps) I want to replace the stock wiring. Deck has front and rear pre-outs, so I’m assuming I’ll be running RCA cables from those into the line-ins on the amp? Pm me your number so that I can give you a call lol… I have many questions.

i know this topic is old but. how many factory amps does a 91 s13 have? people say there are like 3, but i can only locate one in the rear driver side. where are the other ones if any? thanks
