Hey guys, I realize this is not regarding a 240sx but I owned a 240sx proior to this car and I know for a fact that there are some really smart members on this forum and seeing as some son members have this product, I figured I may be able to find some help here.
Ill start off with the car and the mods done to it:
Car—
1994 Probe Gt 5spd
210,xxx kms
Mods—
Headers, full 2.5" Magnaflow exhaust
msd ignition
bored out throttle body, heads, upper and lower intake
ram air intake
aggressive cams, im not sure the exact model but they are re-grinds
7lb flywheel
racing clutch
msd ignition
50 shot Dry Zex kit /w bottle heater
Hks super Afr
Battery re-located to trunk
Nirtous, A/F & Fuel Preassure Gauges
adjustable fuel preassure regulator (idle is around 38 and wot is about 45 pounds)
I know theres more but there already starting to become ie-relevent so ill stop there.
History—
I drove this car without issue up until late december when I put here in the garage. I took the battery out an slapped her in my winter beater.
Problem—
I can’t get this car to idle worth shit since I brought her back out last Saturday.
It is my daily driver and I just can live with having it die on me every stoplight/stop sign etc…
As soon as I start it from either cold or fully warmed up it will rev to 1600-1700rpm for a second then die, I have to manually hold my foot on the throttle to keep her going. The only way I can avoid it from dieing on me when crusing is if I downshift into second, take her all the way down to 1000rpm and push in the clutch. When I do that it can just idle there, but even that dosent work every time.
Im pretty sure its giving me this issue due to the cams, and I know the HKS super AFR is susposed to even the idle out, It used to run great. I found the instructions on how to use the super AFR but I may be doing somthing wrong.
And finally, why I currently drive a Probe instead of a 240sx. ----
Saving for a house, picked up the probe dirt cheap, like to drive standard and still have a bit of power in the summer, winter beater’s auto.
Cheers guys, I hope I gave enough information. Please help me lol.
