Any feedback on escort or cobra? Cobras look really cheap and escorts are at $200ish but still within my budget.
Escort > cobra. Escort X50 or 9500 is as good as the V1 just without the arrows.

Cobras fucking suck. I Bought my V1 used for 250, u can prob get them for 300
I had an X50 before my V1. Great detector. Buy on ebay and save some cash.
8500 x50 maybe isnt the best detector ever, but its still very good for the money imo. Anything less you are wasting your time/money. Ive had mine for like 3 years now
I’m thinking of going V1/9500 to not waste money and think ‘what if i got 9500 instead of 8500’ anyone got a used unit, pm me.
Knowing there’s a cop is pretty useless, obv if you’re on the thruway he’s probably ahead of you on a turn around… but the v1 tells you where the cop is (behind, left, right, ahead), what kind of radar it is, laser, kband, it will pick up security systems, and also picks up the cameras that are on bridges over the thruway, and sometimes stoplight cameras
I’ve used both and IMO V1 is worth it if you’re going to spend the money. Those few seconds you spend spinning your head around with the Passport trying to find where the signal is coming from are annoyingly obvious after using the V1 first.
V1 but I like the older model v1.7 vs. the v1.8
The 1.8 seems go go off wayyy too much. prefer the older version much better.
I wonder if I have 1.8. It gives so many false alarms. I know that my friends does not go off nearly as much as mine does so maybe that is the difference.
having a radar is getting more and more useless with the increase in troopers that are using laser. I may sell my V1 in the spring. I drive faster because I have it, and nearly every time I get on I-90 I get a ticket. I really don’t need a alarm to tell me when to pull over. That is pretty useless.

V1 hands down. Iv owned the x50 and have the v1 now. I wouldent get Get rid of it for any other radar. Deff look on eBay u can get one for around 275/300. They really don’t lose any value
passport 8500 will false less than v1, but both are excellent.
I have a 8500 in blue I may part with works great. I have it in my car I dont need it in my truck. Hate to part with it but I need some cash
