Can i re-move this and how?? also wonderin about re-circulating the BOV, but don’t really understand how. Mine is running right off the hot pipe, is this right? Are there advantages or dis-advantages to running it of the cold pipe. also it is an HKS SSQV.

that looks like a charcoal canister to me,you can plug it and remove it.
i plugged the hose with a small fuel filter going/coming from the fuel tank,to prevent a negative air lock in the fuel system.(in my gts-t there was arrows explaining which hose does.and i dont know shit about bov’s
good luck!

well that thing is something to do with the re-circulation of fuel. but i don’t know anything in depth about that.

with your SSQV tho … why would you want to make it recirculating ? is it stalling on you ?

but if its located on the hot pipe then its fine. the best place to put a BOV is right behind the throttle body like on RB20 or 25.
some people say that if you put it on your hot pipe then it sounds different as well but i really didn’t see a difference.

PLEASE USE SEARCH BUTTON!

I’ll help you this time though…

Unless you’re running a blow-thru MAF (if you don’t know, you probably don’t have it), re-circulating your bov is wise (but not 100% necessary). Use the search to find out about the blow-thru if you’re interested.

Recirc’ing helps with spooling the turbo between shifts (a little) but it also doesn’t make your car bog down when you shift because of the excess fuel in the cylinders. And all that you need to do is connect the bov to somewhere between the maf and the compressor side of the turbo.

That’s it.

And about the sound… Mine is recirc’ed (ssqv) and its still quite loud.

That is a charcoal canister all it does is take the gas fumes and traps it in the canister until you start the car again the fumes are then released into your intake. Its just emissions stuff there is no harm in removing it just make sure you block off the lines. You don’t really need to do what Garret_Volden its just an extra precaution you can just cap off the lines.
