Ok guys, my buddy just picked up a 94 dodge shadow 2.2 litre auto trans. The gas pedal is sometimes hard to push and other times not. the tranny has some problems shifting when the pedal gets hard and just revs by itself. I have no clue have you guys heard of anything like this?
have you looked at the obvious?
-throttle body gummed up
-throttle cable partially siezed
-kickdown cable partially siezed
he just got it yesterday but when you are driving in general sometimes it won’t shift into 3rd gear

cool we will try thanks man
i had a 94 sprit and the same thing happend my kick down cable was all rusty and i had to blast it w/ pb blaster and it worked for a week but yes its the kick down cable and you need to put a new one on
It’s binding in the valve body. Very common on those. The correct way is to pull the V.B. pull the detent linkage out, free up and reinstall. You can TRY to spray the hell outta it @ the top of the tranny where the linkage goes into the tranny but That usually doesnt do the trick.
Thanks he was thinking the tranny was bad
