alright got 5 cylinders running. my car is done except for this. i have spark and checked injector and both are fine. im getting both spark and fuel. so im stuck… i can tow the car you can come to my shop i can pay, i will have beer cold i have another rb20 skyline here for reference or for parts to test. im just looking to get my car running asap thanks
also if someone is willing to help and needs any stock rb26 parts or anything i can hook them up i have a box of injectors/coil packs/ect …3 motors that are good 4 heads … bunch of stupid shit
Check to make sure your ignitor is working properly.
Are you getting spark on all 6 cylinders?
talk to chris melo, 87s15lt1
If you checked for spark and operating injectors, your motor is baffed. Since I doubt it is the motor. Double check everything.
Pull the coils out. Turn them upside down (be sure to ground the wire at the back of the coil pack hold down) and stick 6 plugs in them. Crank the engine and be SURE you have spark on all 6. Nice and blue. Strong spark. I have coils if you need O.E’s.
If good, resistance test your injectors. I cant remember the exact resistance per FSM. But they should all be about the same.
Resistance good? Pull injectors out. Power up the injectors and listen/feel for a click of the poppet engaging/disengaging.
If all good, send them out and have them flow tested. I have seen MANY jap injectors full of a yellow/white-ish type of mush or sand. Servicing your injectors is a very good idea regardless.
If you need injectors, I also have those.
Other than this…I can’t suggest anything else based on what you have stated.
Braden - Thanks for the shout out lol. I have not been on here in ages. I was summoned…balls. HA!
lol thanks guys
i have spark! strong spark
i pulled my injector stuck a working rb20 (twice) off of another skyline in my shop and tried it and still nothing. i plug my first injector in with it running on 5 cylinders and the injector is clicking.
so i dont think i need a flow test on my injector. i have not checked my resistance yet and i have another ignitor in the shop ill throw it in and see if there is and difference but like i said spark is fine and fuel seems to be fine.
this is all dateing back to my original problem of water under my hood causing my cas and computer to fry. after replacing both this is the only problem stopping it from being 100 percent. maybe a ground shorted out and isnt working right? im stuck with idea’s but tmrw i will be getting hard into it again
oh and compression is perfect
fuel seems to be fine…I’m still stuck on injectors lol. You cant see the spray pattern.
For you to be missing on only one cylinder…it’s either CAS, Injector, Coil, Plug, or wiring. It can’t be the ignitor if you have strong spark.
Fuel + Spark + Air = boom. You say you have all 3. I gave you my opinions. Good luck.
Make sure you flush your oil in these stages as your washing it all to shit with fuel. fuel and oil arent the best of pals. Easy to forget when the car finally runs and you want to drive it! resisit the urge!
oil is flushed all the time. im ripping the head down monday and seeing what this peice of shit has wrong with it. anybody no where to get vavle cover gaskets asap
if you have compression (assuming you did a leak down test as well) why are you ripping the head down?
Get a noid light man. your guessing now.
guessing was before. i also have try’d another ecu/ignitor/injector again/coilpack again/spark plug. readings on spark and fuel are the same on all cylinders. i have no idea why this wont run. i have it nailed down to wiring or something inside the motor. im thinking the spark is not happening at the right time
umm i think i good idea would be to hiree me!!! i have a thing with cars and engines kinda like i mind fcuk them prey to the car gods… you pay me 1000 dollars i will get your car running i also can wash dishes so can my grandma… good taking to u
thanks mike, alright guys rewired the harness got number 1 running, everything is running great at idle. now under load there is a hesitation. bad bog. i unpluged the tps sensor and it ran the same so im thinking tps sensor? anybody have one i can borrow or fs?
its like problem after problem i swear. my biggest regret is a rb.
ok i unplug the side plug on the tps and no change in my motor at all, still has bog hesitation. i unplug the bottom plug going into injector harness and the engine starts to run like shit/worst. im checking all my grounds now. does this mean my tps is fucked becuase no change in side plug of because it changed with bottom plug unplugged it should be good?
alright i got another tps and no change. i richen the tps right out and the car runs great when warm. but im still throwing code 43. its throttle position circuit so i figure i have to rewire the whole connector
