Ok guys, i need to borrow a car trailer on tuesday, pref pick it up mon night give it back to u wend morning as i’m going on about a 14 hour drive. If anyone has one i can borrow let me know. I was just gonna borrow my old one but kenny’s brother is using it.
I like this thread
In case you can’t borrow one… DO NOT get one from U-Haul, they did about $3200 in damage to my truck hooking up a fucking trailer. Stupid fucks.
i got one from u-haul before i got elliots and didnt have any trouble. I dont just let someone hook up a trailer on my vehicle though… I check and recheck before I tow or I do it myself. I actually like their trailers b/c they have a pressure activated brake system that works off the ball. Makes it nice b/c with an electronic brake, you have to constantly change the voltage so the wheels dont lock up with light loads, yet give you enough stopping power with larger loads.
Well, I had NO idea what the hell I was doing as far as hooking up a trailer to my truck, so when the “hitch SPECIALIST” hooked it up, I didn’t ask any questions. He fucked EVERYTHING up. The quarterpanel’s are all scratched and need repainted, they’re all bent in, the bumper needs to be replaced and the undercarriage is fucked. NOT TO MENTION, the fact that when he popped out my brake lights he scratched the FUCK out of my paint job. If I wasn’t 18 hours away… I’d go slap the shit out of him.:retardclap
You can use mine for a fee :ninja
well dont know about the specialists at uhaul but thats what i used to pickup my audi with jvg… the trailer was pretty shitty but it got the job done. so if we have to i guess we can swing by there early early tuesday.
… I’ll keep my comments to myself. lol
I think the “hitch specialist” used to eat lead paint chips and bounce his head off walls while depriving himself of oxygen as a child. He was pretty stupid… and he looked a little inbred.
i would never let anyone at uhaul hook up the trailer, i owned a car trailer, i can do it myself.
Hooking up a trailer is not brain sience. How do you fuck up quarter panels putting trailer on???
Frank’s trailer= offical Shift518 tow jobs
It sounds to me she had a Hitch installed there which is were the damage came from I can imagine damage from hooking up a trailer unless it fell off after driving.
Im surprised they even allowed a car trailer to be hooked up to a Colarado.
When I towed my Mustang on a Uhaul dolly with my brother’s Ram 2500 they asked all kinds of questions and made sure it was hooked up and shit like that.
That was long before I had my own truck.
yea jvg and i just drove there and we hooked it up. they asked what kind of car we were picking up and the guy couldnt find audi 4000 in the computer so he just put some random car. they really didnt give a shit…
this guy was anal about it and even had to make sure all the lights worked, asked what I was towing and where it was going.
Cuz I didn’t know any better, figured the guy knew what the fuck he was doing… he screwed a ball into my trailer and hooked the trailer to my bumper. It pulled the bumper down almost ripping it off, the bumper pushed the quarter panels in, fucked up the undercarriage… it was bad. We only made if from Jacksonville, FL to Columbia, SC got stuck for two days before we could get it fixed and then hit the road again.
They asked me all kinds of questions too, I GOT my truck partially because it was able to tow shit. I wanted to get a snow mobile and a jet ski, can’t do shit with them if I can’t tow them places to ride them though.
I’ll NEVER let anyone do ANYTHING to any of my vehicle’s without me being COMPLETELY involved and knowing for damn sure it’s done the way it’s supposed to be done.
i worked at uhaul for 6 months and will NEVER go back to rent or work, but to each his own, also helped out a few members on here while i worked there getting a few cars… also the first time i officially met wayne :rofl but elliot if u hook it up yourself you’ll be fine, or if they do it make sure everything is in check before leaving…(im stating the obvious lol)
Yeah, I guess it is pretty obvious to check it before you leave with it, especially when you’re about to drive 18 hours… but it wouldn’t have mattered if I’d checked it or not, I had no clue. lol Since he was a “specialist” I figured he knew what he was doing… silly me, I’ll never make that mistake again. lol
they’re hitch specialists… not trailer specialists, i hooked the trailer up like it was my own and i tow 4+ tons everyday with my truck and trailer during the summer, and never had a problem with anything breaking and what not
Ok… but my point is, the hitch specialist should have known that my vehicle would not handle towing a trailer for 18 hours on I-95 if he screwed a ball into my bumper and popped the trailer onto it.
