Nelson Ledges Fun Day interest?

I’m buying parts slowly, updating my 540i’s suspension to sport shocks/springss, gonna get the Eibach rear sway to get her ready.

Definitely going to need new front rotors before I go. They’re pulsating pretty bad and looking at them it’s probably not worth trying to have them turned.

These guys sent me an email over the weekend. Not sure if it’s worthwhile.

I’d probably be down for May 25th as well…

Game on for the 17th. Let me know if any of you are going and we can meet up for the drive or something.

I plan to make one of these this year. Maybe may 25th but probably not…

Hope my car will take it…

I’m out for the 25th… too much going on that weekend now.

i thought I had a car ready to go, but it may have a bad head gasket, need to do a compression test, we will see how the autox at the Ralph goes

Well, fun day at the fun day today. Light turnout and we had 2 drivers for one car and not only did they only charge us 100 each, we both got out pretty much every session just one of us ran A group and the other B group. Looks like the 240sx did pretty well posting a 1:25 flat by the last few sessions. Not bad for a stock jello suspension and a measly 160hp motor. Top speed was roughly 102 carrying it thru the kink (flat foot of course  ). Beautiful weather, no asshats on track and I loved getting a point by from a Z06 in group A somehow :dunno:

Cool, maybe later in the season i will have money for this.

Revival for 2014. I am really wanting to get some seat time this summer.

Admission:

$140.00 per Driver.

We accept cash, check and credit card. the facility opens at 0800. Driver’s Meeting at 0930 First group on track 10am ish.

Love this place. Looking at it on a course map it doesn’t look that challenging but it is. Plus major pucker factor in the kink.

If you’ve been to TMP or Dunnville and had fun you owe it to yourself to try this place out. It makes you realize that the local tracks have too many low speed turns with small straights in between.

You can count me in for a few events as i now live about 25 minutes away from the track.

I could be in for one of the last days the 4th or the 5th, but unfortunately not before then. Miss driving this track though, so much fun.

I havent been in a few years, it would be cool to get a group together to go. Its just a PITA to try to get peeps to commit to a date.

MAJOR CHANGE AT NELSON
Saturday, May 17, 2014
Attention

ALL EVENTS/ACTIVITY AT NELSON HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY.

IF/WHEN THESE CIRCUMSTANCES CHANGE THERE WILL BE AN ANNOUNCEMENT.

Any idea what’s going on? I got an email from them about their first funday being canceled. Doesn’t sound good.

A number of years ago there was an interested party in purchasing and turning it into a partial country club like Lime Rock, but that fell through as supposedly “the cost of EPA cleanup of the facilities and removing / disposing of all of the tires was reported to be > 2 million.”

If I had to guess, they’ve closed their doors for good. But I hope I am wrong, I love that track. (I can dream of Nelson being repaved can’t I?)

This sucks

The only other information I’ve found is that some portions of the track surface broke up during a motorcycle weekend causing some very angry people.
