Net Neutrality

Hmmmm I wonder how far this will go.

thoughts??

Yea this has been an issue for a while and who I vote for president IMO should have a strong net neutrality mind set.

Personally, I see it really hard for a ISP to limit the last mile of their network to your house, esp since this means an ISP can push priority on their services over various other internet services (similar to how Microsoft pushed their software in their OS over allowing other searches, media players, browsers, etc to be used).

I do however see ISPs starting to block and restrict the bandwidth file sharing protocols might use.

your on their network. ISPs are the gateway to the interweb. play by the rules.

if you dont like it, get another isp

Start your own ISP ftw!

So you are saying that since you are on say…Verizon for cell phone service…they can allow you to get all verizon customer calls but if you wanna call someone on AT&T, you gotta make sure there is no to many people making Verizon to Verizon calls?

not really

isp’s can do what they want. they have t’s and c’s and they charge you to use their “gateway” to the Internet. if an isp wants to eliminate a port running across their network, IMO, they have every right.

just like how a college/corporation can block porn… its there network, you are just a user on it. if you dont like it, get on another network.

^shitty, but very true.
